BONNER PRAISES BRENDAN’S IMPACT

CELTIC legend Pat Bonner hailed Brendan Rodgers’ immediate impact on the Hoops.
The former Republic of Ireland international keeper watched the manager win his first trophy with the Parkhead side as they beat Aberdeen 3-0 in the Betfred League Cup Final.
Bonner said: “Brendan will be delighted to get over the line – and also by the way his team performed.
“He has come in to the club in the last six months and got them into the Champions League group stages, dominating in the Premiership and now winning a trophy.
“I think it’s been fabulous for him.
“Celtic did not let the fans down. They went out and controlled the game from the off.
“In the first-half, especially, they were totally dominant.
“After the interval, it was a wee bit different for a spell, but they did enough and got the goals that mattered.”
