CELTIC were handed a double boost as they prepared to take on Hearts at Tynecastle tonight.
Aberdeen lost their unbeaten record as they collapsed 2-1 to St Mirren in Paisley while Philippe Clement’s Ibrox side drew 1-1 with Dundee United in Govan.
The results offer the champions the opportunity to move three points ahead of the Dons and ELEVEN in front of Rangers if they win in Edinburgh in the 7.45pm kick-off.
Jimmy Thelin’s Pittodrie side trailed 1-0 to Stephen Robinson’s side at the interval after Toyasi Olusanya struck in the 19th minute for the hosts. However, that goal was wiped out when ex-Paisley ace Jamie McGrath levelled only five minutes after the turnaround.
The visitors piled forward in search of the winner, but were hit by a sucker-punch when Roger Taylor netted a second for the Saints in the 63rd minute.
At Ibrox, Clement and his players were booed off after their 1-1 struggle with the Tannadice side who had led through a Sam Dalby effort in the 36th minute.
Vaclav Cerny threw his side a lifeline with the leveller in the 66th minute and that’s the way the scoreline remained – much to the annoyance of the home support who voiced their frustration at the end.
