    4 3 3 against beaten CL finalist was arrogance from BR.

     

     

    Even the subs at HT didnt change the shape, Kyogo and Kuhn off at HT with Diazen u front 4-5-1 or 5-4-1 . Altho The damage was done by then.

     

     

    BR needs to adapt .Park the fuVckin bus against Cat 1 teams . Getting out of town with a 1=0, 2-0 defeat keeps the show on the road..

     

     

    Instead this utter humiliation will seep through every pour.

    Will Brendan change tactics against Atalanta, he should but probably won’t. .

     

    Tactics were wrong but performance in trying to carry them out was woeful.

     

     

    As previous Bhoys have said no one has died, we will get a slagging but we are big enough to take it & get over it.

     

     

    From the beginning we all knew the games we had to win & Dortmund wasn’t on the list.

     

     

    Tomorrow may not be great but by Thursday/Friday we will have our mojo back, life & football goes on.

    A really poor tactical performance tonight. Worse than the other hammerings we’ve had in the past considering the opposition.

    We created at least three good scoring positions in the second half and should have scored a goal from one of them. Reo made a bit of an impact and Adam did too. Damage done in the first half, thought we had stemmed the onslaught in the second, but still gave the ball away too cheap at times, not always, and that cost us.

     

    We’ve got three points and six goals after two games, not a complete disaster.

    BR has to learn how to play away from home in CL but his presser said different.

     

     

    How much did Dortmund board back there new manager £200 million, our board spent zilch and like it or not buy cheap buy twice.

     

    Our board are a joke.

     

    Now BR needs to go 4 – 5 – 1 away in Europe and frustrate home team but then you need players to o do this.

     

     

    Atlantic will tell if we have learned a lesson.

    McGregor needs to sit the Manager down and tell him,we are nowhere near the level of a lot if most teams in Europe, he has played against these teams and players at all top levels, if we go into the Atalanta game with the same formation we will get pumped, serious questions of the manager for me,and I am a major fan of his

    CalMac may well be talking himself out of the team if he does that…

     

     

    If BR does go more defensive, I think he needs another number 6, because CalMac isn’t the answer for that role. Too small. Too weak.

    Its as though BR knows that the fans are incapable of any backlash against the club unless its to rage at NL. This creates a hiding room for the manager.

    In our own domestic league we’re not used to being out of possession, so against better opposition we need to think about how we play when we are. And we don’t seem to have any plan except for doing we already do, better.

     

     

    Brendan’s post match interview was worrying. Always difficult straight after a big defeat like that but he didnt show any signs he was ready to learn and compromise.

    Roy Keane and Stan Petrov said 8 years ago after BR horrific CL results that “You don’t go to the CL to learn” you go to show Celtic in a good light, like MON did all those years ago, but MON suffered in his last season the loss of HL like Stein suffered the loss of Dalglish and it all ended in sadness.

    Real Madrid dont try to go all-out/toe-to-toe with top teams. They didnt even try that against lowly us in the 1st half at Celtic Park. What makes the likes of Ange & BR think that we can ?

    Wasn’t expecting any points tonight, but wasn’t expecting a hiding either. It was a case of same old story. Learned nothing from previous away games. I only saw first 30 mins but the gaps we left all over the park were embarrassing. Attacking like we’re playing Ross County when we should be sitting in behind the ball and protecting our box. I actually thought Brendan would have had a plan for Europe.

    Naïve believe in his formation regardless of the massive jump in class.

     

     

    We’ve seen it too many times.

     

     

    Why can’t he just be pragmatic and try to frustrate these teams?

     

     

    At least we might not get humiliated.

     

     

    And these teams know that he won’t change and go for the jugular.

    Once again the board-haters are out in force. We do the best we can within our means. To get to the level of the big guns in the top five leagues we would need to spend hundreds of millions – look at Man Utd with a recent spend of c£600m and failing to challenge for title. We don’t have hundreds of millions to spend!!!!

     

     

    We will get over this and you know what – it will probably happen again sometime, somewhere – until and unless we get into the EPL.

    Aye ouch; I didnt really see that coming. Callum called it sobering. More like a tobering !!

     

     

    I know the call is to play uber-defensive, but Cal said the game plan was to deploy a mix of open and tight, but that players stared chasing phases of play as individuals causing the shape to get lost.

     

     

    Think back bhoys…who gave us the most trouble so far this year? Like we are to Dortmund, they were minnows…

     

    It was Falkirk who most fans praised for kinda going toe-to-toe with us. It didnt work for them.

     

     

    Even a good team making multiple mistakes can cop a doing. It’s not all on Brendan but as a team collective we need to execute better.

    Last season I thought we did look more structured and better defensively, only atletico away when we lost a man did we truly unravel. The other 5 games we were in the match.

     

     

    Dortmund are a class side but perhaps we lost perspective given all the plaudits coming our way.

     

     

    We have to see a different set up in Italy.

    I see no option but Bernardo or Engels. They have at least more height and more physicality than CalMac.

     

     

    Likewise Taylor, he can’t be played against these sides.

     

     

    I’d be starting Idah upfront ahead of Kyogo.

     

     

    All this may not work, we’ll probably still lose in Italy, but it’s time to at least try the Strachan approach.

    Atalanta will be the same.

     

     

    Let’s just concentrate on a domestic treble then the board are off hook again.

    Players like Daizen (love the guy) need to blooter it from the edge of our box – play to his strengths.

     

     

    The bad luck, two deflections, two pens, one shot went through BOTH CB’s legs on the way to goal, didn’t matter. They would have scored another way five minutes later – outclassed.

    When did the board back BR….oh aye they sold Orily for 25 million, Oh for 2,5 million and a few others at least 30 million…..no but wait we spent 15 million.

    Bar Scales and Kasper, I think everyone was dreadful tonight.

     

     

    The midfield battle was a rout after twenty minutes. CalMac could just have easily been subbed at HT as Bernardo.

    It is what it is we are not at that level we play in a crap league and physically and financially out of our depth when we play top European teams..Park the bus your having a laugh we never need to do in Scotland and you just can’t turn it on.Roll on Saturday. KTF
