CELTIC’S Champions League rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach could be without Thorgan Hazard and Raffael for Wednesday’s crucial confrontation at Parkhead.
Former Chelsea winger Hazard sustained a knee injury on international duty with Belgium while Raffael is also struggling with a thigh complaint.
Hazard scored in the 2-1 defeat to Barcelona in their most recent Group C outing, while Raffael also played against the Calalan outfit.
The pair each scored a hat-trick in the 6-1 play-off second leg victory over Swiss side Young Boys in August.
Head coach Andre Schubert, whose side kicked off with a 4-0 loss at Manchester City, said: “We are not quite happy with the course of the injury with regards to Thorgan. He was treated by the national team, but to my knowledge, not intensively.
“We sent him for a MRI scan when he returned and we think it’s just a bruise, or an irritation. Now it depends on how quickly the irritation subsides.
“With Raffael, the question mark is a bit bigger and we are being a little more careful.”
Raffael was injured in the 2-1 home defeat to Barcelona and was substituted with what looked like a bad hamstring injury. His chances of appearing at Parkhead are slim to say the least and his absence will be a huge blow to the German side.
