BOYATA IN BUNDESLIGA LINK

DEDRYCK BOYATA will quit Celtic in June after agreeing terms with Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin, according to reports in Germany.

The 28-year-old Belgian World Cup defender is out of contract at the end of the season and will leave Parkhead four years after Ronny Deila paid £1.2million to buy him from Manchester City.

Boyata has rejected several offers of new terms from the champions who knocked back a £9million bid from Fulham in the summer.

The centre-back has almost certainly played his last game for the Hoops, as CQN reported during the week, after limping out of the 2-1 win over Steven Gerrard’s side on Sunday with a hamstring problem.

HEAD BHOY…Dedryck Boyata clears from Connor Goldson last week.

Neil Lennon admitted he will be out for the remainder of the league season with the only possibility of an appearance in the Scottish Cup Final on May 25 – if, of course, the holders overcome Aberdeen in the semi-final a week tomorrow.

Greek giants Olympiakos were credited with renewing their interest in the free agent after being linked with him in the summer, but it now appears the classy back-four operator has agreed a switch to Germany, according to the Sun.

Hertha Berlin, who last won the title in 1931, currently sit mid-table in the Bundesliga.

Their Head Coach, Pal Dardai, has been given the go-ahead to strengthen his squad for the new season and the former Hungary boss has made Boyata his priority target.
