The Gang of 10 SPL club who will meet next week will decide whether or not we have a morally sound and ethically administered league. The meeting wasn’t announced three hours before overtures were being made on terms a Rangers Newco would be prepared to agree to in order to win their backing.
Effectively, the other 10 will asked to hold their noses, put all moral judgement aside and tell Rangers Newco the terms they need to agree to in order to get back into the SPL, retain their history and limit consequences of the alleged improper registration of players. Some of those hoping to front a Rangers Newco are prepared to do whatever is necessary to get back on a level playing field with those who have spent the last 20 years playing honest football and paying their taxes.
The question to be considered is not just what is ethically right in sport; it’s more personal than that. This is about what is going to happen to your money, the football club that defines who you are, and your relationship with the game for the rest of your life.
The schemers and cheats are not beaten and they are not going to give up. There is no honour, no ‘dignity’, no moral compass that understands there are consequences for decades of rampant abuse. All there is, is a sense of entitlement that I struggle to comprehend.
That sense of entitlement is about to promise bucket loads of your cash to someone else in order to restore the old certainties. This time, they are not even going to use the tax man’s money, they are going to use YOUR money. The money you put into the game will be distributed and used to flush the smaller clubs, who will in turn restore Rangers to their position of ascendency.
This is not sport, it’s a disgusting abuse of Celtic fans. You are not even being asked, you are being expected to open your wallets and pay whatever price it takes to put Rangers back on top.
I have never called for a boycott of a newspaper, never mind a football game, but this is not football anymore. We cannot be party to this. It is not a passing-issue either. Rules are being made with consequences that could last 100 years.
You have suffered from decades of malpractice and have earned the right to go to Ibrox in two weeks to enjoy the reflection of honest endeavour. After this, our next away game will be at Kilmarnock. If the Gang of 10 attempt an insurrection using your money, join me in a picket outside Celtic Park when these tickets are available for sale, and outside the away gates at Rugby Park on game day, to explain to Celtic fans the consequences of supporting the clubs who would use your money to establish a new Rangers.
Unite and bring the full power of Celtic against those who would rather do a deal with the devil than establish an honest, even, playing field.
If the Gang of 10 give Rangers Newco their way, using your money, we cannot go back to an away game, not this season, not ever. We must demand this discipline from each other and insist the club refuse all away tickets.
Having paid our taxes, registered footballers in an honest manner and brought international acclaim to Scottish football, the Celtic Movement is being corrupted by the lowest common denominator.
Our magnificent sporting institution is being destroyed. For the love of all that is decent and meritocratic in the game, we need help from England, Europe or wherever to move out of Scottish football.
I am just about finished with the entire, corrupt, shambles that masquerades as a sport.
Issue six of CQN Magazine….. has sold out! None left, sorry.

Living nearly 4500 miles from Paradise I have been wary of calling for a boycott of away games…who am I to call for one.
All that said…the time is right to remind those who are happy to leach off us that there are consequences for their betrayal.
I wish there was some way that the vast overseas support could lend, em, support to those that will be on the front line of the boycott. Good luck to you all and be careful.
100% behind the call to arms.

Yep, same here. How many of you are heading over. I reckon we need a taxi straight from airport to ground. Fancy sharing one?

I would say I am shocked but the sad thing is it was probably expected.
The ONLY answer is a Bhoycott and let them know it soon. It has got to
come from the away fans who for some it is a way of life. Celtic fans should not be punished, the players to will suffer from lack of support. Celtic have been silent
so far but time for the fan association’s, GB everyone to stand up and tell the likes
of the odious Yorkston they can not rely on the green pound.
Your strongest piece to date paul67
Simple question. Would CFC be afforded the same luxury?
NO CHANCE!

I stand by what I said to you in my reply this morning. I still believe that are finished.
Of course, the suggestions on today’s thread are a bit of a blindsider, even by hun-affiliate standards,so we are gonna have to be even cuter to put them down.
But we will. That’s why we are where we are,and they are where they are.
Sometimes it’s a long game….

From another angle I believe the SFA receive some funding from the Scottish Government, in allowing newco a license after liquidation, after non payment of taxes and tax evasion are the scottish government being seen to countenance tax evasion ? ,I am sure Dave and chums in westminster would be delighted at that scenario to grab wee eck by the cheenies for that one.

If the link doesn’t work go back to green maestro’s original post.
The Buddies are hardly ‘buddies’ of ours but this post would honour this site.
PLEASE READ – IT IS EVERYTHING ABOUT WHAT A FOOTBALL CLUB IS, BEING A FOOTBALL SUPPORTER & NOT CHEATING
Excellent find greenmaestro!
I have written about boycotts previously and my feeling resins that selective Bhoycott required.
Those who support cheating Huns feel the pain. We go out of our way to attend venues of clubs who stand up for fairness. This will have the effect of not only punishing conspiring cheats but will create positive financial imbalance in favour of decent clubs.
Our Board are playing a stormer on this subject so far ( Credit to Lawwell) hopefully at some point they will provide leadership to our own fans and like minded clubs by signalling our position openly.

Why would the Scottish Government want to remove Scotland from the international scene. I haven´t watched Scotland for years ..are they that bad ?

I’ve just voted to let the huns die on an Aberdeen forum.
Up comes an ad for a company that can set up EBTs along with a wee picture of Hector. Class!

Paul you have obviously written this article with great emotion but this is a time for cool heads not hot heads.
Is there something that I have missed over the last few days but the articles seem to be oscillating from on view to the opposite at each post. We had the Whyte Pre-pack is a fait accompli followed by it won’t happen because HMRC are on the case. Yesterday we had the 10 have done for newco (a view at the time which many did not agree with) to the lastest post which is saying this meeting is to allow newco in. So lets BHOYCOTT.
IMHO we need to take some perpective on events at Ibrox. How this is going to pan out no-one can be sure off at this point. The most likely event is liquidation of the existing company and it assets purchased by a newco. In the short-term in that is the case we have ‘won ‘as Rangers FC 1872 no longer exist.
In the longer term do we really want to exist in league that we always win and that has no real competion. The outcome would eventually be dwindling crowds and less star palyers because we would not need them. Would someone else step up to the plate from the 10 probably not. Therefore what is our game plan iif the huns go belly up. Moving to EPL or Championship are pipedreams.
It is obvious business sense for the other 10 to want a newco to get income from gates and it is also ludicrious to think that any of these 10m have any moral backbone. Therfore what we (CFC) should be considering just now is the price that we would demand of newco to get back at whatever tier the start at.
Paul 67
I don’t want to go over the top but
I think your article will pave the way to, at least, a seat on the board.
For life. Possibly paving the way to your own statue being erected next to, the rest of the Ghods of Timdom and last but not least, when the Commonwealth games are over, we’ll probably see the introdution of
“Brennan Boulevard” adjacent to, Kerrydale street.
Too far ?
Not far enough for a man who will be remembered amongst all of
Timdom as the guy who ensured – “Celtic Fans Don’t Sit At The Back..”
God Bless
Hail! Hail!

Re your list, include St Mirren in hun camp. Board member (not saying which one, VERY VERY senior member), used to be a member, may still exist, of a group of individuals from a certain Paisley cricket club, who had their own specially branded tie about hating Tims. A friends boss was/is a member of said group. Nuff said.
Time for club and supporters to stand as one and not be trampled on.
Paul67,
Count me in for the boycott if it turns out that the gang of 10 are plotting to re-admit Zombie Rangers into the SPL in exchange for a bigger share of other peoples` money.
Having said that, the other SPL clubs probably don`t care if we boycott them. All they`ll do without our money is amass more debt more quickly, shaft creditors, go into administration, zombify and rejoin the league.
Who knows – in ten years time the SPL could feature fixtures such as:-
The 8th Zombie Incarnation of Rangers v Kilmarnock 4th Time Around;
St Johnstone Version 7 v Dunfermline 3rd Time Lucky etc
As regards changing the season ticket pricing structure to charge for example £480 for a Celtic View/ Programme subscription that entitles the purchaser to a £20 season ticket – that will not work and will in fact bring Celtic into trouble with Hector.
Matchday programmes and magazines are zero rated for VAT (0% charged) while tickets for football matches are subject to 20% VAT. Any attempt to reshape the season ticket costs in this way would be kyboshed by Hector as tax avoidance because of the 0% VAT rate on printed material. I know this as I dealt with similar cases in the past when I worked for Hector!
If a membership scheme was set up and used instead of Celtic View/ matchday programmes subscriptions then that would be a different story……
I hope all fans decide to take this boycott seriously, it is a stand we all have to take against the corrupt football powers and get it right up the likes of john Yorkston and co
Brilliant one on the BBC live crisis watch:
“1455 We’ve just heard there will be nothing out of Murray Park until after 1500 GMT at the earliest. So, nothing imminent, or it could be later in the day. It sounds like negotiations are still underway and the players and administrator are trying to work out a deal.”
Is potentially five minutes away not “imminent”?
Goodbye my fiend it’s hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
Think of me and I’ll be there
As someone who attends all the away games I would be in favour of a boycott if it is required.
What do you want us to do Peter?

Thomthetim,
“This is an action that must rest exclusively with the fans, as the club cannot be seen to be actively working against other clubs well being.”
Don’t partially quote me.
You infer that I am saying that Celtic should do nothing. That is wrong.
What I said was that Celtic should not be publicly advocating a boycott.
To date, Celtic have operated within the rules. I believe for them to openly promote action of this kind would rebound on them.
Match attendance is the fans’ business.
Whether a supporter attends a match, home or away, is his/her right to choose.
Nobody asked the then Boards permission or sought their approval for Celts for Change.
The club have other ways to defend our collective interests.
I was one of the early boycott advocates, qualified by the fact that I am a non attender.
I never wanted or expected Neil Lennon or the club to publicly support it. It would be a massive own goal.
An update from our reporter Jonathan Sutherland: “BBC Scotland has learned Ticketus is confident of winning any case relating to the arrangement which saw the company advance money to Rangers in exchange for proceeds from three years’ worth of season ticket sales. The firm has been taking legal advice. The Rangers administrator Duff & Phelps yesterday emerged from the High Court with a trial date set as they seek to release £3.6m from an account they believe belongs to Rangers. However this is being contested by Ticketus, amongst others.”
Its a joke these clubs are even considering this nonsense.
It will be a while before I go to another SPL away game.
Interesting Naismith and others leave Murray Park by the back door after arriving through the front door
Reported just now on Real Radio

If what you imply comes to pass, then my football lights go out. The sh** I have put up with for a long lifetime added to this would just blocked off my interest for good. I would truly rather live without the game than surrender to these ‘evil’, totally amoral and untrustworthy people, without conscience. They would take the depravity that has existed for decade after decade in the Scottish game to its deepest level. That must be anathema to any man of good conscience. I hope I am in that category and that I would rightly and proudly, if extremely sadly, walk away. If the Celtic board accept the slightest hint of what you infer, then I will feel absolutely content that I have abandoned the game and even the club for which I have shed emotional and psychological blood for 70 years. I can live with my memories and with a clear conscience.

Paul (or others),
Could a small shareholder instigate an Extraordinary General Meeting to look at the range of options open to us and empower the club through a vote?
Not sure what DD thinks – but I was one of the army of fans who gladly and willingly dug into my pocket to save our club when Fergus showed up – I am buggered as to why we should be funding a Rangers resurrection as well.
Paul 67
Boycotts and Protest I’m all in favour of. I’d like to see a very planned approach designed to cause maximum local disruption as well:
1. Outside ground immediate protest leading up to a KO
2. A Pre-booked ‘march’ (requiring policing) from the stadium to the town square or other rallying point.
3. 2 hours of protest and singing in a ‘euro away’ type of atmosphere
4. If marching isn’t granted, a move off and assembly at said square anyway.
Seek to cause traffic disruption, protest and challenge. Make it visible and sizeable. Give our fans something to attach to and entertain them.
Phase 2
Reflect on initial few months, tactics used against us, refine and continue. That might be protesting in a different place from the game etc etc.
Motto – Keep havin a party even when it’s tough!
