Boys in blue turn to Ibrox

661

Its seven months since the Worthington Group, who represent the interests of Craig Whyte, reported Charles Green and Imran Ahmed to the Serious Fraud Office over the ownership of Sevco 5088 Ltd.

Sevco 5088 Ltd bought and paid for irrevocable rights to buy the assets, including Ibrox Stadium and Murray Park, of Rangers Football Club PLC, in liquidation.  Those rights were subsequently assumed by a different company, Sevco Scotland Ltd, now called Rangers Football Club Ltd, who are a football club in the third tier of Scottish football.

The question is, how did Sevco Scotland acquire those rights?

When this question was raised back in April, it was reported that Rangers International PLC instructed Pinsent Masons to investigate the matter, but instead, Pinsents reported on whether Craig Whyte was involved in Sevco Scotland Ltd, a company he claimed no connection with.

The BBC, who broke the story yesterday evening, suggest Police Scotland are investigating if Craig Whyte is still involved with “Rangers”.  Although this would break the terms of Newco Rangers entry into Scottish football, it is not, of course, a crime, nor something the police would concern themselves with.

More importantly, the BBC suggest police want to speak to Charles Green, former chief executive of Rangers International PLC, about a document submitted to Companies House.  The dispute over the ownership of Sevco 5088 Ltd has played out through documents submitted to Companies House, not all of which can be legitimate.

Perhaps the biggest challenge of all to the Newco is that these matters have a history of taking a long time to resolve.  Time is not a commodity a company without bank borrowing or positive cashflow can afford.

If only any of us saw this coming………

Gauld should be a priority target for us in January. Also like Armstrong and Robertson of DU.

Nice to see something more positive about Vic than what I’ve read elsewhere

I have concerns about Hooper too but thats more to do with service. How many chances does a penalty box striker get for Norwich? Remember that Van Wolfswinkel went 6 games without a shot on target.

  3. This Zhang dude scored 11 and assisted 12 goals in the league last season in a team that only scored 54 goals in total.

I’m guessing the fans of Beijing Guoan are having Gary Hooperesque palpitations at the thoughts of losing him.

  4. The word on the street was Bomber was told in the street to ” pull his neck in and shut it as he didn’t know who he was dealing with” and old Dave King was told or asked “who the feck do you think you are, best thing you can do is go back to South Africa before you get a fecking slap” and both did what they where told, in between those two incidents a well know bus company was broken into, and £300,000 in coin (cough cough) was stolen? And that’s the word on the street, jist saying like.

I’m not concerned about either to be honest. We got decent money for them. I would like to see them both doing well but they should both still be at Celtic. They had the chance to sign new deals and have one last crack at the CL before going South. The team last year developed into a good side. With our two arguably star players in it this season we could have kicked on a bit. I reckon with Victor and Hooper in our starting line up we would not have lost against Ac Milan away. Nor would we have lost to Barcelona at home. We would certainly have more than 3 points. A real pity because Neil had taken quite a while to assemble that side and coach and blend the team together.

I think Kelvin has been missed the least because VVD and Ambrose appear to be a great partnership already.

There was serious violence before, during and after last weekend’s Juve v Napoli game..

Napoli Ultras smashed up the toilets and then threw the rubble at Juve fans .

Lots of arrests and 18 people admitted to hospital..

Meanwhile down in the depths of Liga Pro-

The relevant authorities decreed that there would be no away support at the Salernitana /Nocerina derby.{ a derby with a history of serious violence ]

In response , Nocerina Ultras instructed Club Officials to refuse to play the game . The Club Officials said we can’t do that.

The Ultras then proceeded to threaten the Nocerina players and their families with serious consequences if the game went ahead.{ death threats etc ]

Before the game the Nocerina Management and the players told the Ref that they had received death threats and didn’t want to play the game . The Ref decreed that the game had to go ahead.

Game started and the Nocerina Manager quickly made 3 substitutions . Cue 5 Nocerina players suffering an” injury” and being forced to leave the field.

Cue the Ref noticing that Nocerina only had 6 players ,cue Ref abandoning the game .

Cue 200 Nocerina Ultras having a party in Nocerina town square.

  8. niallo83 (09:45): “Hoolahan is a decent player but I reckon he is very similar to Kris Commons and is 31 so unlikely to improve. I agree we need a bit more creativity in midfield…. .There are plenty of better young players in Europe who could do a job for us!!”

André Hahn of Augsburg is a name I mentioned the other day. I saw him on the Bundesliga programme recently and he scored two cracking goals.

Looking at his stats it seems that he has hit top form in the last couple of seasons, and may have been moved into a more attacking role recently, to good effect. He looks quick, strong, skilful & confident, and seems to read the game well.

If none of the better Bundesliga teams come in for him in January, perhaps we could nip in ahead of them. I accept that the SPL would hardly be a step up, even from a lowly Bundesliga team, but if we can sell ourselves based on our CL exposure and participation, and as a stepping stone to the EPL, then who knows?…

  9. NFL on Biton and Rojic

Lennon said: “Nir has been away a lot since he joined us, but is not travelling this time.

“So, thankfully, we will have him for a couple of weeks here during the break and we can work with him. That will do him good.

“Nir has been working very hard with our sports scientists, in terms of physical work.

“He has put some weight on, which he needed to do. We are also working on the cardiovascular side of things with him.”

While travelling to Holland knowing he was banned from playing against Ajax was frustrating for Biton, he still showed enough commitment to earn his chance as Lennon rung the changes for the tricky game away to Ross County.

It was probably the furthest north Biton has been in his life, but he made the journey worthwhile.

“Nir worked very hard last week, and we felt he was looking good enough for a start against Ross County,” said Lennon.

“And he pleased me because I thought he was really good in the game.”

There may have been a lack of match sharpness, but there was certainly no lack of confidence on the Israeli’s part as he tried his luck from long range on more than a few occasions, with power and accuracy, as keeper Mark Brown’s stinging hands will testify.

“I want him to have a shot whenever he can, because he has got that in him,” commented Lennon.

“He was also unlucky to see a powerful header tipped over by Mark Brown

“For a first competitive league start, I thought he was very impressive.”

Lennon truly believes it is only the start for the summer signing.

The manager reiterates Biton was bought as a long-term investment, and will be given the time and opportunity to find his feet and his position in the side.

“He’s only a boy at 22,” Lennon explained of the man who just celebrated turning that age a couple of weeks ago.

“So, he is in the same bracket as Amido Balde and Tom Rogic.

“Sometimes, when these young players arrive here, we want them up and running before they can really walk.

“I have been guilty of that myself, on occasions.

“We really just need to break them in a little bit more gently.”

A sensible outlook, but one which can still frustrate young Bhoys itching to prove they are ready to make a contribution and justify their transfer fee.

In the case of Rogic, the need to get more involved is even more pressing because his place in Australia’s World Cup squad is on the line unless he can feature more for the club he joined from Central Coast Mariners in January.

In the initial first few months, the rangy midfielder was allowed time to come to terms with moving halfway round the world.

But, having broken through to the Aussie national team in the summer as they qualified for Brazil 2014, the 20-year-old hoped to make his push at the start of this season, only for injury to sideline him at a crucial time.

Rogic has been playing catch-up ever since.

And, with Australia now having a new boss in Ange Postecoglou – who has named Rogic in his squad for this week’s friendly against Costa Rica – the youngster has obvious concerns about what is potentially the biggest season if his life ending in a major anti-climax.

Postecoglou is planning to speak to Rogic about his situation when the two meet up Down Under for this game.

The coach said: “The biggest problem with Tom is that he’s not playing.

“If he’s still not playing in January, and his back half of the season is like his first half, then he’s going to find it very hard to make the squad.

“He needs to be playing club football to be part of the World Cup squad.”

But Lennon has some words of reassurance for the Ausie starlet and his concerned coach, insisting: “I am looking to give Tom plenty more game time between now and the end of the season.

“Then, when he goes away with Australia, he will be ready to go.”

  10. @LiviBhoy

I agree with you on Kelvin. We are a better team with Virgil in the team.

My concern about them is on the fee’s we can demand for players. The reality of football is that players will leave us for England as soon as they can (generally). If they do well then that raises confidence in the market etc

Just look at how Newcastle plunder france. They made some good signings initially and have went back to the well. We want to be selling players for 5-10 million so we don’t need to sell every year.

  11. Southampton offer swap deal- Vic for Virgil. Aye or naw? Naw for me.

Tom Rogic- if Neil has no plans to give him regular football he should be allowed to go out loan, if he plays well in the WC his value could be x3 or higher by the start of next season.

we know the money will run out soon , possibly even as early as Christmas

we know Charles Green has disappeared to a castle in france

we know ticketus are still after Craig Whyte

we dont know all the existing shareholders identies Blue Pitch etc

we know Dave King will not put in his own money ( especially if true owner is not clear )

for everything we know , we dont know how this will play out. The SFA will be sweating on this as Cambell Ogilvie will be implicated in some way.

Admin is coming again soon. Its the only way to clean the decks and start again. Although this time the game may chane to a leaseback for the assets. These spivs strategic approach to flogging a dead horse to the gullible hordes should be a case study on any executive MBA program for M&A people. Even top M&A people could learn from these spivs.

This may sound harsh on the boy but Kelvin never really convinced me. Always looked afraid. VVD has super confidence and has already bagged 2 goals. A decent centre back should get half a dozen a season.

How many Kelvin score for us?

  18. Why are we still interested in the goings on at Sevco FC. Regardless of any police investigation and subsequent prosecutions, should the law have been broken, Sevco will still exist, only another liquidation event will prevent them being in the top tier within the next couple of seasons regardless of who owns Ibrox.

Coup de grace should have been administered a long time ago, far too late now.

What happened in dam square was organized state thuggery against the Celtic support

  20. @Livi

I honestly cannot remember Kelvin scoring for us.

Kelvin could get himself in a state positionally. Either way, I feel a lot more comfortable with Virgil and Efe.

Efe takes risks but he has ability. In Scotland it is great to have CB’s who can surge into space and have Charlie step in if needed.
