Brace yourself. It was a simple step, but when referee Nick Walsh warned the Livingston keeper for timewasting early in the game last night, at a stroke he stopped one of the drags afflicting Celtic games. Hopefully other referees will hear of this ground-breaking move and act accordingly in future.
If a referee could only bring himself to notice the other Great Tactic when facing Celtic: put your body between ball and man, then flop to the ground when the Celtic player is in contact, our sport would be transformed. Until then, Celtic will doubtlessly continue their untroubled march to the title.
Greg Taylor is having the season of his life and was rewarded with the opening goal last night. Setup perfectly by his first touch, he shot through a busy penalty area into the corner of the net. It was just rewards for a man who has made himself invaluable to our play.
For the second time in a month, Daizen Maeda’s desire to press inside the opponents box brought the ultimate prize when an attempted clearance ricocheted off him into the net. If you don’t buy a ticket….. you don’t earn a league winner’s medal.
I am sure Livingston are better than they looked last night. As halftime approached, they appeared punch drunk and when a poor attempt to intercept failed, Kyogo was left one-on-one with the last defender. No one backed the defender. I expect even David Martindale looked away as his approaching team-talk turned into a ‘keep it respectable’ exercise. Still, he has the PPP Table to console himself with. If only Opta carried a points-per-pound stat he might get the Man City gig when Pep moves on.

Coneybhoy – I would imagine so. In addition, after the crazy start to the season when we were playing games every 3 days or so, the long break for the World Cup must have had a positive impact on those who were not involved. More time working on strength, fitness and tactics.
The only real injury concern this season was when CCV was out and we looked that bit more vulnerable.
A wee mention for the background team too. I, like most on here, wanted to see JK and Strachan junior replaced when NL left. The fact they are still there proves I knew absolutely nothing of what they bring to the training ground.
Can we blame the failed bean counter for anything this week.?
He has been getting off lightly recently

Yes! No goals in the second half. He instructed Ange, who instructed the players not to score second half so the goal difference wouldn’t open up further.

I used to think Beale was the brains behind Gerrard (and I still think that) and only that. No more. His defence of Morelos and his attack on McCann for his criticism of Morelos’ insulting behaviour to opposition fans could needlessly open a can of worms, e.g. if Kyogo scores at Ibrox and celebrates in front of Beale’s follow followers and is attacked, will Beale condemn Kyogo or his follow followers? The SFA should haul him over the coals for his trite remark about not being able to celebrate scoring; McCann made no such point.

Decent article BB. Cheers.
My tuppence…..
There does eventually come a time when a line has to be drawn under historical atrocities and crimes.
Victims families routinely seem to get that.
It’s almost always about truth, recognition and justice which will fuel healing.
( I don’t like the cliché “closure”)
I’m full of admiration of them and the dignity they muster (I honestly don’t know if I could match it).
To get that though there has to be a handshake.
This soldier lied and lied and lied.
When his lies were exposed for the sham they were?
He continued to lie.
He has never expressed remorse.
IMHO, a suspended sentence doesn’t fit.
PS – if you are looking for a nailed on example of whataboutary outside the football field?
Look no further than Paul Young, national spokesman for the Northern Ireland Veterans Movement.
To paraphrase ….
“The Provisional IRA were just as bad or worse than the British Army”
Maybe that should be their slogan for the next recruitment drive.
FITBA TONIGHT….
ITV4…Real Madrid v Valencia.
Kick AFF is 8pm.
when they said ‘suspended sentence’ i thought they’d hanged him…..

WEEBOBBYCOLLINS re: celebrating podiums is rank
It’s just a bit of fun mate. 7am my time when the new post goes up. I look forward to the leader with my morning coffee.
Did you sleep in this morning 😀
Still confused at the lack of interest in GG.
Does VAR have the Celtic board squirming?
Since it’s introduction and weekly exposure Scotland’s shame have sailed through regardless and now stand uniquely unaffected. The Celtic hierarchy have to admit openly that there is anti Celtic bias, they have to do it before we win the league. This poses the next question of why?
The answers are for Scottish society and there are people including Celtic fans who don’t want to admit that there is a new problem, as history prepares to repeat itself.
Res12 – let’s not go there, title stripping – let’s not go there, £49.00 a ticket ©️KevJ – let’s not go there, same club mythology – let’s not go there, Are we there yet? genuine unaddressed grievances resonate and are resurrected when cheating reappears in plain sight.
The Michael Nicholson ‘let’s not go there’ reply to a specific question at the AGM may have served at the time, but it was no better than ‘VAR’s teething issues’ that have now developed in a full mouth of molar.
Celtic require a full scale VAR war with the evidence so far in a continuing trend, then the Celtic supporters are being cheated twice over. The fingers in ears, don’t rock the boat, can’t chalk them all off brigade, will have once again, prevailed.
VAR in full swing ‘working perfectly’ with retired masons zooming in to back up the SFA on every decision, those waiting on Celtic parity from VAR will move on to the same generational waits endured before.
Unbeaten in the league at home for over two years Celtic as ever, have the best football squad and apparently the best and most popular manager in memory. It’s time for our board of directors to earn their corn and preserve our club’s future before inevitable seen miles away incoming arrives.
The answer should no longer be – let’s not go there.
HOT SMOKED , from, earlier.

PCS- Beale said Fat Charlie was 20 yards from the touchline, no he wasn’t, i remember Bellamy getting booked at Poundland,by Dougal ,for running towards the Govan stand in similar style, nowhere near the edge of the pitch.

Did you miss the bit about Celtic telling the SPFL at a var crisis meeting that the evidence can only point to incompetence or cheating?
BADA BING
I was thinking about that Bellamy booking this morning when I saw Morelos’s actions on Sportscene.
He jogged about 10 yards and went down on his knees with his head bowed and didn’t even look at the huns. The look on his face when he was booked said — What kinda country is this?

Superbru Update
Round 25 saw two clear leaders and a 5 way tie for 3rd place. I assume all of these resisted the temptation that I succumbed to in expecting the minis to take something from a home fixture vs Sevco.
1st = Auldheid – 10 points
1st= Nawlite- 10 points
3rd= all on 7.5 points
Hutchybhoy
Borgo 67
Ayrshire Tim
Friesdorfer
& Bada Bing
There was a 3 way tie in bottom place on 1 point with Jobo Baldie and Bognorbhoy losing out on this week’s wooden spoon to kelvinbhoy
Overall we have the same top 3 but the race to 2nd spot has closed up a bit:-
1- A thing of beauty- 144.5
2. Leggy- 136.5
3. Ayrshire Tim- 136
We now have 50 predictors on 100 points or more and there’s a chance for all right down to BMCUWP in 56th place to break that barrier this coming weekend
It may take a couple of weeks for our wooden spoon contenders to get there as we have
Belmont Brian on 85.5, Melvin Udall on 86 and Raplochbus on 87 – all chasing the prized wooden spoon.
Next predictions are due in by Saturday 4th Feb at 3pm with a final fixture on Sunday lunchtime when the Hoops trail to Perth. Good Luck to you all!
Dougal thought Bellamy blessed himself, was the story at the time ‘ provocative ‘ to the hun hordes

What is your source Tom that this was a “Var crisis meeting”
It wasn’t Phil Macg most recent blog as it doesn’t mention a “Var crisis meeting”.
It does draw comparisons with how Jim Farry dealt with the SFA.
As much as i like Phil stuff and this isn’t a criticism of him or his articles, but this is hearsay.
The corrupt, bigoted ,incompetent, biased or gutless ( take your pick from those 5)SFA need dealt with in the open not behind closed doors .
You have if Phil is your source misrepresented him.
I don’t think the referee did anything wrong last night. He wasn’t responsible for VAR checks and was never asked to look at the monitor.
In fact the VAR checks, while an annoyance, at least arrived at the correct decisions, however slowly.
Tom
I only saw highlights but I couldn’t see anything worth checking in any of the goals. All clean as a whistle and pre VAR would have no issue.
All great to watch too. This is the most aesthetically pleasing team since my personal favourite 82/83 team.
PS a squad of 18 back then and the subs hardly featured. Must have played with injuries half the time
What an absolute clown Laffatme is 🤣
CARPE DIEM
What has the mutt done now? Pray tell
A comfortable win last night by all accounts and keeping Newco at arms length. See they are unbeaten under Michael Beale winning 19 out of 21 points so as long as we keep hearing the footsteps and we will be fine. Martindale sounds like a name from the country music hall of fame. Upward and onwards to the Saints at the weekend.

If your up for it, get to park early, before the busses arrive, station 1 each of you at the ticket office, the emirates bus park, the jock stein bus park, and for the more adventurous the celtic supporters club
In particular the busses from Ireland and England that arrive early, they often but not always have people missing the bus or not able to go and they try offload their season cards, you might catch 4 together, I have done in the past. Any spares they want to offload quickly and you might see someone in the quees for the lounge access
All spread out like that you might get 4 together or 1 each or a couple or none at all. The joy of the smart phone communications means you keep in contact and know if any successes.
Good luck it is worth a try.
The yellow wall last night at the end of the game I am informed was a practice/training session for the stewards.

2. Cheating”
