BRENDAN RODGERS could make a remarkable comeback at Celtic – only 20 months after quitting.

Celtic overcame stubborn Sarajevo 1-0 in Bosnia last night to take their place as a top seed in Pot One at today’s group stages’ draw in Nyon at noon.

Odsonne Edouard rolled in the only goal of a tight encounter in the 70th minute after the keeper had fumbled a low shot from Ryan Christie.

That was the strike that could set up an engrossing meeting with Rodgers’ Leicester City when the ballot takes place.

The King Power outfit are in Pot Two and it will be down to the luck of the draw if both sides are matched in what will undoubtedly be an intriguing confrontation.

The Hoops, who were dominant throughout in Bosnia as they were in Latvia against FC Riga last week, were due to be in Pot Two before last night’s results.

However, an astonishing sequence of scorelines mean Neil Lennon’s men have stepped up to a top-seed position.

A late AEK Athens winner against Bundesliga side Wolfsburg coupled with LASK Linz’s runaway 4-1 victory at Sporting Lisbon pushed the nine-in-a-row champions into Pot One alongside teams such as Jose Mourinho’s Spurs, who walloped Hafia Maccabi 7-2 in London, Arsenal, Benfica, Roma and Bayer Leverkusen.

The midday Europa League Group Stage draw will be set out thus:.

POT ONE: CELTIC, Arsenal, Spurs, Roma, Napoli, Benfica, Bayer Leverkusen, Villarreal, CSKA Moscow, Sporting Braga, Gent, PSV Eindhoven.
