NICOLAS KUHN received the stamp of approval from Brendan Rodgers after his double strike in the 3-0 win over St Mirren at Parkhead swept his goal tally to an incredible 16 this season.
It’s a praiseworthy return from the German winger who got off to a false start after his £3million arrival from Rapid Vienna a year ago.
However, although Rodgers admits to being impressed by the form of the touchline ace, the hard-to-please Hoops gaffer insists there is STILL some work for him to do in the weeks and months ahead.
Looking at Kuhn’s latest striking performance, Rodgers, speaking to Celtic TV, said: “He was very good, great speed for the first goal and persistence for his second goal.
SUFFERING SAINTS…Paisley skipper Marcus Fraser and keeper Zach Hemming are down and out after Nicolas Kuhn’s second goal to make it 3-0 for Celtic.
“He’s a player who is improving. However, he’s still got more improvement for me that needs to come.
“But, from where he was at when he first came in to now, he’s been a really consistent performer, so I’m really pleased with that.”
Kuhn will go into action again on Wednesday when the champions take on Dundee United at Parkhead.
Jim Goodwin’s Tannadice outfit are the only Scottish team to deny the Hoops a goal this term after the scoreless stalemate on Tayside last month.
Kuhn and his team-mates aim to rectify that situation in midweek in an encounter that could see them move 16 points clear at the top of the Premiership.
