BRENDAN RODGERS has poured scorn on reports that Celtic were lining up a £6million January raid for former Liverpool wonderboy Bobby Clark.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who joined Austrian Bundesliga side RB Salzburg in a £10million switch from Anfield last summer, is currently on a season-long loan at Derby County.
A story emerged in the media across the border that stated Clark was on Rodgers’ radar as the Irishman planned to strengthen his squad when the transfer window re-opened at the turn of the year.

DEAL OR NO DEAL? Brendan Rodgers rejects reports he will be making a £6million move for midfielder Bobby Clark in January. Image courtesy Sky Sports.
Peter Eustace, the Championship club’s manager, was quick to say he had heard nothing about the proposed move for the youngster who made 14 appearances for the Merseyside giants in Jurgen Klopp’s final season at the club.
Rodgers admitted he was as much in the dark as the Derby gaffer.
The Hoops chief told Sky Sports: “It’s one that’s come from a long way out.
“I wouldn’t normally say anything on anything, but I really don’t know where that has come from at all. Especially in October.”
There WILL be activity at the champions in January, but, according to Rodgers, any potential deal for Clark is a non-starter.
