‘BRING ON EUROPE,’ SCOTT BROWN

SKIPPER supreme Scott Brown reckons the current Celtic squad is strong enough to clinch a place in the Champions League group stages.
Ronny Deila will attempt to bring in at least one more central defender and another striker over the summer, but Brown is confident the Hoops already have what it takes.
He said: “I think the squad is very good. We’re fit, we’re strong and, if the gaffer adds one or two, that’ll be brilliant. If not, we’re definitely good enough the way we are.
“This title win has been great. Every championship you lift is, but especially when you are going for so many in a row it’s extra special. If we can do it next year again it’ll be even more so.”

And Brown has urged Stefan Scepovic to heed the lessons of Leigh Griffiths this season.

The midfield dyanmo added: “Stefan did really well and he worked hard. That is what the gaffer asked of him, to work hard and the chances will come.

“Leigh can be an example. Scepovic has been in and out of the side and has not played a lot recently, but again comes in from nowhere and scores two goals with a great performance.

“Leigh’s had a great season. He didn’t start so well, but the way he has come in the second part has been fantastic.

“He is so sharp. You saw against Inverness that he gets one shot at goal and he scores. It’s brilliant to have a striker like that to start or come off the bench.

“Over the entire season for us, he’s been superb. It’s always hard when you are not in the starting eleven or even the squad as he was in the stands a couple of times.

“But he thought he had to give it a go as he believes in himself. To go out there and put that jersey on means a lot to him.”
