BROONY EURO SCARE

CELTIC skipper Scott Brown is a massive Champions League doubt ahead of the Hoops’ opening qualifier in Armenia tomorrow night.
Brendan Rodgers’ onfield leader jetted out with the squad for the tie against Alashkert, but is nursing a knee injury following the club’s 7-0 friendly win over Shamrock Rovers at the weekend.

Injured Leigh Griffiths and Marvin Compper remained in Scotland, but Brown will be given every chance to make the first leg encounter.

However, Callum McGregor is confident the team won’t slip up – even if Brown is sidelined.

The midfielder said: “The boys have accepted the challenge. We need to get our heads down, get our fitness up and do as best as we can.

”It’s important, getting more experience at that level and knowing how to see games out.

“That process you go through, it’s tough. You do have to hang on at times. It’s a hard part of the season when boys are still trying to find sharpness and fitness.

“If we get the team together, get the right shape and we work off each other, we’ve got a good chance.”
