BROONY: LEGEND SLAMS SFA FOR ‘NEW LOW’

CHRIS SUTTON insists Scott Brown’s notice of complaint following the fracas at the end of Celtic’s 2-1 Sunday win over their Ibrox opponents is “a new low” for the SFA.

The Hoops skipper has been cited for allegedly “not acting in the best interests of Association Football”.

Brown was the victim of an ELBOW in the jaw from Ibrox hot-head Alfredo Morelos that saw the Colombian red-carded for the FIFTH time this season.

The 33-year-old midfielder was also PUNCHED in the face by Ryan Kent in the immediate aftermath of the champions’ second goal from James Forrest that gave the title kings a 13-point advantage on their way to an inevitable eight titles on the trot.

And Andy Halliday – who was given a second yellow card by referee Bobby Madden – made a move for Brown at the end of the game as he took issue with the former Scotland international captain’s celebrations at the final whistle.

The defender’s actions sparked a rammy that also saw Mikael Lustig and Ibrox reserve keeper Wes Foderingham booked for their part in the melee.

Hoops legend Sutton wrote on Twitter: “Scott Brown charged with celebrating…. A new low for the SFA…”

Brown was floored in both assaults from Morelos and Kent. The Ibrox frontman copped an automatic four-game suspension and the club, remarkably, contested the two-game ban for the on-loan Liverpool winger.

He escaped immediate punishment, but his assault was caught on film as he threw a clenched fist into the Parkhead player’s face.
