Broony Lewis, Fraud or not, Establishing Locus

370

Been in conference in deepest Manchester for a few days, has anything happened? First of all, well done to the captain for the whole onesie thing. I remember the days Celtic View staff had to campaign for days to get a word from a Celtic player. Notions that the senior players would roll their sleeves up and get involved with media, commercial or Foundation projects were fanciful.

While the move to Lennoxtown has no doubt been good for players and coaches, fans seldom get to see players in less formal roles, like this, or the now frequent Celtic shop visits.

BroonyIf you’ve not seen the video, check it out here.  It’s a Joy of Celtic kind of thing (which I know you have in spades).

Fraudulent or not?

Lord Haw-Haw: Yes.
William Shakespeare: Maybe.
Celtic, East Dunbartonshire and NHS Greater Glasgow: No.

Audit Scotland yesterday announced that there were no fraudulent activities surrounding the purchase of Lennoxtown by Celtic. Imagine that!  Celtic paid full price, including tax…

CQN and others spend years predicting the fate of Rangers and Murray International Holdings. The evidence was there, if a little hidden. Just because one group of fans can successfully uncover significant information on another club, doesn’t mean that any or every club is managed in an illicit manner.

The tip is: if you’re going to put a lot of time and effort into something, chose your subject carefully. Otherwise you not only waste your time, but you miss a whole lot of more serious action.

Establishing the locus…

….what you need to do before you are considered appropriate to mount a Judicial Review of a process. Mike Ashley did this yesterday, despite his 9% shareholding in Newco. Fan groups wishing to pursue the SPFL, should they fail to look at the goings-on at oldco in the light of various recent legal matters, will need to convince a judge they are entitled to ask for a Review.

There is a clear route for pursue, should it be necessary.

On Ashley’s Judicial Review of the SFA’s decision to fine him £1000. If the Association are wise they’ll capitulate now. He knows what they don’t, he started this action knowing he has enough to win.

So what would you prefer, Newco fan money goes into Newco, or is held for a more productive moment? I reckon they should pile in now.

  2. Morning all.

Black as the old ace of spades out there just now. Hope Parkhead is a lot brighter this evening.

Wierd world: was listening to Radio Scotland, as John Swinney tried to ignore the collapsing oil price and how it would have devastated an independent Scotland’s finances and turned on BBC Scotland to find Osbourne telling us what a wonderful country we live in because of his policies.

Good morning from a clear and crisp Nordrhein Westfalen.

What are the chances of Derk ” The Boa Constrictor” coming back to haunt Ajax tonight?

Naw, I didn’t think so either.

    C’mon the Hoops

Gerry at 6.59, thanks for your best wishes for my son.

He’s surfaced from his kip before half seven for the first time in four years

    MACJAY,

The official site has him down as a midfielder. Apparently there is not a section for imposters. If there was we could have fielded a couple of teams from previous seasons.

  6. Morning all.

Very well done the Young Hoops on reaching the last 32 of the UEFA Youth League.

Hope the first team can emulate the feat in the EL, starting with a win tonight.

    Well,pal.

For me,Derk is a one off.

    A head shaker. A w.t.f.

In fact, perhaps somebody`s head should roll.

Now he`s going to come on with 15 to go and score the winner.

    Mebbe.

  8. Gordon,

    Lustig, Bhoyata, Jozo, Izzy

    Janko, Forrest, Armstrong, Allen, Tierney

    The Griff

Two right backs and two left backs covering each other and more flexibility for substitutions later in the game in case of injuries.

  9. Ajax are without three players tonight but apparently have no qualms with putting an 18 year old straight in for his debut. We on the other hand, will probably try more experienced players out of position rather than playing a youngster in his proper position.

  10. Midfield is the key for this one, and we’re looking very light. I’d reckon it’s Armstrong and Rogic for the holding roles tonight – unless there’s a Ronny u turn (i hear they’re all the rage) and we play a different formation of course.

Forest and GMS for the wider attacking roles behind our only scoring striker. That leaves the central role -Allan? McGregor? Ciftci? None have played a lot of football of late.

Good morning Bhoys well tonights the night I hope the team dont let the pressure of the event get to them rather I hope they take it as a one off game that they want to win. I honestly dont see us qualifying from the group but this is a chance for us to win our final home game and restore a wee bit pride. We are not helped by our injury problems but I believe Ajax have also got injury problems so it will be interesting to see which team copes best.I have no idea what Ronnys team will be other than to suggest we may see a couple of surprises. H.H.

  12. So what are the pubs of choice these days in Glasgow ?

Failte and brazen head were my picks last few times I was over, but I haven’t been since the so called shame game 5 years ago. Heard failte has closed down.

Even with 4 midfielders unavailable tonight Calum McGregor shouldn’t even be on the bench. Play Armstrong, Allan and Rogic and have young Thomson on the bench as back up. McGregor is like playing 10 v 12.

  14. !!Bada Bing!!,

So deBoer will say that he had never heard of Man U and grew up in Holland dreaming of playing for one club only … and the msm will lap it up.

Then someone will point out – as many have on Twitter – that he signed before EBTs. And they will ignore the facts as they always do.

Look out for a stream of ex players of the ex clubto be trotted out to say how they would have paid to pull on the glorious blue jersey with dignity, or similar nonsense.

  15. “Nearly December and cole still hasn’t made his debut yet.”

    Proudbhoy,

    I know! It’s a scandal.

A player signed last month after not playing in the previous 6 months hasn’t played in any of the 4or 5 games he’s been eligible for yet.

I don’t know why it isn’t keeping Osborne off the front pages.

  18. JJ…,

From one of P67’s lead articles in Feb this year.

For Lord Nimmo Smith. As a result of the evidence being buried his decision that all EBTs with side letter were “not irregular” when two with side letters clearly are, is simply wrong. However the corollary of his ruling that regular EBTs provided no sporting advantage has to be that irregular EBTs did provide such an advantage and that even although Moore did not have a side letter, as he was still paid by an irregular means that no other clubs could use, then along with De Boer and Flo, Rangers had to have gained a sporting advantage in the games in which all three played individually from 1999 to 2003. – See more at: http://www.celticquicknews.co.uk/dont-mention-the-wee-tax-case/#sthash.lMGwpQ8X.dpuf

He was cheating the tax man even before the EBT’s

  19. De Boer was the second player to benefit from the Rangers Employee Benefit Trust . The clue that it is an ebt scheme is in the titles.

It was a Discount Option (ebt) Scheme subsequently ruled illegal by an FTT in 2010.

De Boer signed up to it on 30 Aug 2000 and there is a side letter to prove it of that date.

He was to be paid 1m Guilders every six months for 4 years under it.

After 2 years he switched to the Murray Group Management Benefit Trust better known as loan or BTC ebts.

It’s all here if anyone wants the detail including deliberate concealment of side letters from HMRC.

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6uWzxhblAt9bndoWmMtU0VwMzg/view

The items at the link should have been provided to SPL lawyers but clearly could not have been or it would have been a different Commission entirely.

This will all surface main stream at some point.

  20. Canalamar

Check my post. He was using illegal ebts to cheat the tax man from 2000.

Not only were those ebts illegal the used side letters as well and SPL lawyers asked for all ebts with side letters (plus related docs).

It was the deliberate concealment of those side letters in 2005 that enabled HMRC to pursue collection from 2010 outside the normal 6 year limit.

  21. Much more interested in hearing the answer to that question after HMRC have claimed back all their unpaid tax

  22. SPL lawyers asked for all ebt details with side letters from July 1998.

(I meant to include the dat)
