SCOTT BROWN and Celtic team-mate James Forrest are rivals for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year honour.

The Hoops skipper, 32, has the opportunity of winning the award – NINE years after he was given the accolade!

Brown, who can lift the Premiership trophy on Sunday if the champions triumph at home against Graeme Murty’s Ibrox outfit, has missed just four league matches this season.

Forrest, winner of the Young Player of the Year award for the 2011-12 season, has scored 16 goals from the wing in his most prolific campaign, including the opener in the 2-0 League Cup Final victory over Motherwell in November.

Hibs’ Scotland international midfielder John McGinn and Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd have also been nominated.
