BROONY’S BYE-BYE TO JONNY

SCOTT BROWN has admitted he will miss his mate Jonny Hayes who is leaving Celtic in the summer, as CQN reported.

The Republic of Ireland international is heading for the Hoops exit at the end of his three years at Parkhead after arriving in a £1.3million switch from Aberdeen.

Hayes, who will be 33 in July, and the 34-year- old Hoops skipper have been friends since the day the versatile performer arrived at the champions to play his part in the continued success of the club although he will not be around for the record-breaking tilt at 10 in a row.

Brown, who has been 15 years at Celtic since £4.4million arrival from Hibs, wrote an emotional farewell to his departing colleague, saying: “Going to miss you my man. What a man and what a player. Hard going in the dressing room to replace x”

Hayes announced his exit a couple of days ago and posted on Twitter: “From the lows of breaking a leg to the highs of winning a treble, the last 3 years have been an enjoyable journey, in which I’ve worked under some terrific staff and shared a dressing room with some unbelievable guys!

“Football at times brings tough decisions, so I’d like to thank you for all the support received along the way! Stay safe everyone!”

Hayes was linked with English Championship Stoke City, Cardiff City, Blackburn Rovers and Queens Park Rangers in the January transfer window.

However, the situation will have altered dramatically due to the coronavirus pandemic
