BROONY’S MESSAGE TO RIVAL FANS

CELTIC skipper Scott Brown has issued a message to anyone who does not think Celtic should be awarded their ninth successive title.

The 34-year-old Hoops midfielder has told rival fans they can “come and see my trophy” if they continue to insist this season’s honour should carry an asterisk.

Neil Lennon’s side were 13 points ahead with only eight games to play when football went into cold storage in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The champions are poised to be awarded the 51st flag in their history and the club captain reckons it will be well deserved.

Brown responded to comments from opposition supporters who reckon the crown will be tainted and told BT Sport: “I’d tell them to come around and see my trophy.”

He added: “Obviously, we want to play the games.

“We were in a strong position and we knew we were going to go on to 13, 16, 19 points clear because we’re a top quality team.”

The SPFL, who have already called an early halt to the three lower divisions, are due to bring down the curtain on the Premiership campaign.

It is inevitable the flag will once again fly at Parkhead.

Keep that champagne on ice, folks.
