Of course, until the late 80s there was zero chance of Polish footballers like Pawel Brozek being entertained at Ibrox, but in these enlightened times footballers, irrespective of religion, are welcome, or at least employed, by all Scottish clubs.
Pawel, who is expected to breeze through his medical this morning, will formally become a Celtic player this afternoon and train with the first team squad tomorrow. He aims to become first choice striker and maintain his place in the Polish national team ahead of Euro 2012. He joins an on-form Celtic full of confidence and purpose and is the team’s third signing this month after Mikael Lustig and Rabiu Ibrahim.

Much as i’d love us to sign Janko I agree with you that it’s probably nonsense from our friends at the Record. Tomorrow’s back page headline will be Celtic miss out on giant striker or something like that, whilst a wee bit at the bottom of the page will say Jellyfish to Everton – £4m.
I am not a fan of Tommy Sheridan at all however this silencing as part of his bail conditions is utterly reprehensible.

And people want to allow Salmond and his cohorts free reign to do as the please in an independant country? Westminster don’t get involved but Salmond and Co know where the boundaries are, they cannot be trusted based on this and the Football Bill.

I think in Gary’s case, he knows what its like to have had, albeit very limited, experience of a top club and has had to work incredibly hard to make it from non-league football all the way up to Celtic. Very very few players who start of at that level ever make it to the top. Since the age of 14 he has only known improvements and has signed for bigger teams each time. He hasn’t really had to deal with dissapointment of being told he’s not good enough (apart from that very brief 20 min spell at Spurs). He will move on, but hopefully not for a few years.
Stokes on the other hand has been deemed a failure a couple of times, first at Arsenal and then at Sunderland. He’s bound to think that this is pretty much his last chance and if Neil has told him he needs to work harder, then he knows exactly what he has to do.

excathedra and Awe_Naw – Ball left Rangers in 2005. Everton are parlous, this is well known. It defies all logic that they allowed Rangers to hold a debt of 7 figures for almost 7 years.
Is it possible? Yes.
Is it likely? No.
Not with the various means a football club has at its disposal to get money it is owed from other clubs.
