Brutal consequence sets stage for Giakoumakis

260

The consequences of a brutal Scottish Cup tie at Alloa, permitted by the kind of soft touch refereeing that would see official intervention during martial arts bouts, has left us without our captain for an undetermined period of time.  Callum McGregor’s facial injury was the most severe consequence, if not the most dangerous challenge.

We are likely to head to Tynecastle with Reo Hatate, who has played only 75 minutes for Celtic, and Matt O’Riley, whose entire experience is limited to a year in the English third tier, in central midfield, backed by Nir Bitton.

Should we get through this game unscathed, the experience will do us well as the same players are likely to be required when Dundee United and Newco visit next week.  You would be forgiven for thinking these games will go a long way to determining the outcome of the season.

Saturday offered little encouragement bar the opening goal, converted by Giorgos Giakoumakis, his second for the club.  Without Kyogo, Maeda and fourth choice striker, Ajeti, Giorgos has the stage to himself.  He has started three games since joining from Venlo in the summer.  This period could be the making of him.

  2. Morning all from a dark, dry and chilly Garngad

So wee Barry admits he told his players not to hold back….no surprise there really, again it’s down to the refereee to make sure the laws and rules of the game are enforced.

All roads lead back to the s lanarkshire refereee association having to much sway in the game of football here.

    A corrupt cabal of bigots.

We need our whole game gutted from top to bottom.

    Morning Bhoys.

    ” The LYING Game”,

Barry Ferguson it right up there with Bonkers Boris and the SHAMED EX Prince Andrew when it comes to LYING !

So Wee Ferguson claims that he did NOT send his Alloa team out to injure Celtic players ?

As for the ASSAULT on GUCHI in particular and the Alloa player getting a yellow card……..Did Ferguson SUB the Culprit asap ?

I dont think he did, especially when Joe Hart had a long ” Chat” to the culprit as Guchi was getting treatment.

For ANYONE to claim that the assault on Guchi was NOT a Red Card offence…is a HUN LIAR in my book.

    HH

  7. As for ASSUALTING Celtic players, I am VERY concerned that the Hertz Mob will be out tomorrow night to damage Celtic players even further. I will be surprised if we leave Swinecastle with NO further assault victims heading for the treatment Room, or even a local hospital ?

Its never ending season after season.

  8. If Ange had half a brain in his head he’d have seen Barry Ferguson and Bob “FTP” Malcolm coming.

    What was he thinking?

  9. Who is feeding Jackson information on injuries to the Celtic squad, if this is unauthorised the person should be sacked,if it’s a stab in the dark then that’s what the press do, hope Ange is aware of this and if required finds the mole.

  10. Playing Kyogo half fit, playing key men against Alloa in the starting line up. It’s the Celtic support that have been stabbed in the daylight, never mind the dark.

Ange is a beautiful imbecile that needs our CEO to serve up two quality loan signings or the League is a Hun/SFA deal.

A quality midfielder and ready made striker, nothing less will do. Joe Harte had better be made Captain btw.

SAINT STIVS, on my quick reading back from last night I came across your remark (above).

Couldn’t agree more, the feckwit trolls feed off response. I can see why some of the good ghuys feel the need to argue with them, but there is no point because they do not actually want an argument, they want to disrupt the blog, especially if there is a feel-good factor around at any time.

I’ve been doing that for ages now and can attest to the fact that it sure speeds up your read-back when you are scrolling by your own particular list of muppets,

“For ANYONE to claim that the assault on Guchi was NOT a Red Card offence…is a HUN LIAR in my book.”

JIMMY,I doubt anyone on here would disagree with that, but the assault on CalMac was equally a red card ‘tackle’. The Alloa player launched himself at CalMac, arm/shoulder leading, with no chance of actually getting the ball. CalMac was utterly defenceless because, as the camera shows clearly, he only had eyes for the ball.

The out-of-control contact with CalMac’s head should have resulted in an IMMEDIATE red card, never mind waiting to see if there was any damage. Head high challenges have been outlawed for years in rugby where they recognised that a player trying to play the ball was utterly defenceless to a head high challenge.

Cowardly from the offending player, cowardly from the referee (or not?).

    Dessybhoy – nobody

The above answer applies equally to another question.

    “Who is Keith Jackson?”
