I doubt even Leigh Griffiths’ dad thought he had this kind of form in him when he signed for Celtic in January last year. The then 23-year-old had ‘squad filler’ written all over him as he waited in line behind Gary Hooper and Anthony Stokes. The arrival of John Guidetti and Stefan Scepovic a year ago could have limited Leigh’s chances further, but neither showed enough form to make the striker position their own.
Prospects looked bleak last season. Two starts before Christmas, Leigh spent time with the youths and looked to be heading out of the club in January, but with the manager’s mind increasingly made up on Guidetti and Scepovic, he got his chance. The transformation has been remarkable. His goals return compares to the best in the modern era, but it’s the type of goals he scores which has caught the attention most.
He’s fast, skilful, can out-jump central defenders and scores goals in big games. Should Celtic choose to play with Carlton Cole as a target man, Leigh will also be able to play to his left.
Whatever Ronny Deila achieves this season, the improvement in Leigh Griffiths will feature high up the list. Leigh’s attitude to self-improvement is also worth noting.

I’ve only flicked in and out over the last week but I can’t say I’ve seen a post saying a draw would be a good result.
For the record I think anything other than a win (under all foreseen circumstances) will be a poor result.

I think the manager , coaching staff , and every player who took the field in Norway owe themselves and the traveling support a big payback time.
I’m confident that with a touch of tactical pragmatism , a big pitch that’s fit for purpose, and 40,000 Tims roaring them on that Celtic will win this match.
Class will prevail.

Any win really, but an aggregate win against Molde (2-0 or 3-0) and we’re really right back in it.
So many permutations after that but it would set up our game against Ajax at Celtic Park as an absolute belter.
A win for us and Ajax would be my choice. Fener bottom of the group. If we then beat Ajax it would mean Ajax couldn’t catch us. If Molde beat Fener same night it then it eliminates Fener and we’re through on 8 as better head to head v Ajax who can only get to 8. A draw with Molde and Fener means Fener would topple us with a win in the last game but Molde would need at least a draw in Amsterdam as we have them in the head to head on 8 points, against an Ajax team who could still qualify with us if they win and we take something in Turkey.
I’m overthinking this. If you’re watching in black and white the head to head is behind the points but ahead of the goal difference, irrespective of coefficient which only becomes effective in a complete dead heat.

Well maybe im to pessimistic in the draw but my point is Molde not so long ago we would have been very confident of beating them at home now we are not so confident.It will take time in my opinion to get back to a decent European level but I believe Ronny is the man to get us back there. I hope the next edition of of the dictionary includes the modern hyphenated personality adjective “scroll-by”. As in ‘you’re a total scroll-by’. Or, ‘I used to read his blog posts but he’s just another ‘scroll-by”. Not a scholar of language but perhaps It may even be elevated to noun as a class of person rather than a descriptor.
