BURKE REVEALS ‘AMAZING FEELING’

OLIVER BURKE is gunning for Hamilton Accies on Saturday after claiming his first goals for Celtic in the 4-0 victory over St Mirren last night.

The Scotland international, who arrived on a six-month loan deal from West Brom in this transfer window, netted the opener and claimed the third as the champions moved a point ahead of Kilmarnock at the Premiership pinnacle where they also have a superior goal difference and a game in hand.

Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox side, with the much-vaunted Jermain Defoe making his debut, slipped three points off the pace as they toppled to a 2-1 loss at Rugby Park.

“We put in a great performance, worked very hard and got a result, so I’m delighted for the team.

“My main focus was to get the ball in the back of the net and I knew after that I’d get my confidence back and feel at home again. It’s amazing to get two goals.

“It’s given me a great boost. I’m really happy for the team and now we can focus on the next task in hand.”

Accies, who lost 3-0 at home to Aberdeen last night, are the visitors to Parkhead on Saturday as the Hoops aim to keep their 100 per cent record ticking over as they pursue an unprecedented treble treble.
