BUSINESS AS USUAL FOR KENNEDY AND CO

JOHN KENNEDY took his first training session at Lennoxtown this morning as Celtic’s interim manager after Neil Lennon’s departure on Tuesday evening.

It was business as usal for the players as they prepared for the Premiership encounter against Aberdeen at Parkhead on Saturday.

The quest for the historic tenth successive title has been blown in a catastrophic campaign that has seen the team lose four and draw seven Premiership games to drop an unacceptable 18 points off the pace with only eight games to go.

Kennedy had a word with the players before they went about their normal routines as they tried to salvage some pride from a season that promised so much in the summer.

The last time the Dons were in town was a mere eight days ago when David Tunbull scored the only goal of the game with a scorching long-range drive that whipped low past keeper Joe Lewis at his right-hand  corner.

The Scotland Under-21 midfielder was one of the last players brought to the club by Lennon when he arrived in a £2.25million move from Motherwell in the summer.

Turnbull may be looking to prove a point – or three – when he lines up against Derek McInnes’ men at the weekend.
