CALVIN IS BACK TO FRONT

The 18-year-old made his first appearance for the Hoops in Tuesday’s 1-0 victory over Partick Thistle at Parkhead.

Miller turned out at full-back after playing all but three of his games for the development team at outside-left.

And the Glaswegian said: “It was amazing. I’m just so happy to have been part of it and to get the win.

“It was the perfect debut. I had an idea on Sunday I would be playing and I was really nervous for a couple of hours before the game.

“As it came closer to kick-off, I got more focused and I had all the boys around me to make me feel confident.

“They helpled me a lot and I just went out and did my job.

“My family was here, so it was just great.”

Miller, who has been at Parkhead since the age of 15, revealed what boss Brendan Rodgers said in the dressing room as he prepared to take his bow in front of the home support.

“The manager told me before the game that he knew I was a winger, I had to be direct and get crosses into the box.” said the teenager.

“I’m adapting to this position. It’s getting me into the first team quicker, so, hopefully, I can maintain being good enough and have that variety of positions in my locker.

“Hopefully, the gaffer can see what I am doing and I can get into more squads.”

Miller also thanked the backroom team at the club.

He added: “When they give me a bit of advice, it is really helpful.

“I take it on board and then I go out and try to do it.”

Miller lasted until the 63rd minute before Rodgers replaced him with the experienced Emilio Izaguirre.
