I was at a lecture in Glasgow a few years back on certain mental health conditions when the presenter claimed 1% of the population met the criteria for psychopathy. In a theatre with 700 people, he noted, that meant 7 of us.
My mind immediately did the sum; 1% of 60,000 people: 600! You would think 600 psychopaths littered through a football stadium would create mania, but it doesn’t work like that. Even psychopaths learn to moderate their behaviour to conform in most circumstances. The power of those around them is important.
I was not at Tannadice on Monday and did not hear any of the offensive material I am assured was sung by some in the Celtic support. This was an issue (although not always viewed as a problem) for decades, before the move the new Celtic Park stopped it. That hiatus ended in 2011 when we listened to Oldco fans signing their songbook at Hampden, convinced the book would be thrown at them, before hearing then-Justice Secretary, Kenny MacAskill, praise fans for their behaviour. The floodgates have never been completely closed since.
What matters most is not that you have some who stand among you who are prepared to tarnish your reputation, but how everyone else responds. If even psychopaths moderate their behaviour, the almost universal condemnation of the behaviour Celtic fans have shown since Monday will help us police ourselves. All of us who care about Celtic, have a responsibility to raise our voice.

Well, it’s been a while since we’ve had a flounce. The time of the year when apparently grown men feel the need to write cringeworthy exit speeches that recall the good ole days (of which there wasn’t really. We’ve always had spats, eijits and cliques) and take no accountability for their lack of quality control on the blog.
Rules are simple. Watch your red mist and use the scroll by feature without fear nor favour to help you along the way. There’s always been people we like and people we don’t. Sometimes those in the latter category bring unbridled joy and value to others. That’s life. Embrace it.
It’s a blog, used by men with made up names, talking about the ‘tic (and other matters). If it’s not for you, other blogs are available or find alternative means to wind down from this hectic life……
With everything going on, we (and this blog) are really not that important in the big scheme of things. A bit of perspective.

Get a Celtic post going mate and I’ll do my best to contribute to it but I hear you. We’ve always had the interlopers. Some people loved Kojo. I thought his right wing nonsense was appalling and scrolled on by but others didn’t. Some people here have JHB’s back and others don’t.
Unless we are all united and stop giving them oxygen then they’ll be here as they do what they do inside Paul67’s rules.

Reading back from last night, a couople of things.
SAINT STIVS, don’t let the beggars win! In my opinion the blowhards, loudmouths and multi-monickers are on here for one purpose only, to disrupt the bog at least and if possible ruin it. If you and posters like you, that add interest and positivity, leave the site then they win. Personally I never, ever engage with them, just scrolling by, and if more or most of us did the same they would realise they are wasting their time and might give up. But while they get any replies at all they will wallow in it. So please reconsider and keep on adding to the blog.
I also noticed MODERATOR 1888 announcing his/her presence. More power to them, but I was disappointed by one thing they said, namely he/she was not going to bother with the multi-monickers. Surely in this tech-savvy age it would be easy to spot posters using this abusive technique (and it IS abusive). He/she outlined the regular ‘rules’ we should abide by – why not add another rule, namely no posting under more than one name/title/monicker. That won’t entirely tackle the problem, but would reduce it considerably.
