CELTIC will again be without defensive rock Cameron Carter-Vickers when they face Atalanta in matchday three of the Champions League tomorrow night.
The USA international centre-back didn’t even travel to Bergamo, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
The absence of the influential defender will be a massive blow for Brendan Rodgers who saw his team collapse 7-1 in the previous match against Borussia Dortmund in Germany with Carter-Vickers missing out with his troublesome toe injury.
GREEN LIGHT…Auston Trusty is poised to play against Atalanta.
The Hoops gaffer has been forced to pair two left-sided performers Liam Scales and Auston Trusty at the centre of his rearguard with the 26-year-old former Spurs man sidelined.
As well as the seven goals ahipped at the Westfalenstadion, the champions have conceded another five – two to Falkirk in the Premiers Sports League Cup quarter-final at Parkhead and three in the league to Ross County in their comeback 2-1 victory in Dingwall and Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Aberdeen in Glasgow.
Ahead of the squad flying out for Italy, Carter-Vickers was pictured training with his team-mates at Lennoxtown.
However, all indications are that the medical team have stated it would be more profitable for the player to remain at home to prepare for Sunday’s match against Motherwell at Fir Park.
