CAMERON CARTER-VICKERS is on his way back to Celtic after the USA crashed out of the Copa America.
The Hoops centre-back was stuck on the substitutes’ bench as his international team-mates lost 1-0 to Uruguay after a controversial 66th-minute winner from Matheus Olivera who looked well offside in the build-up.
It was the hosts’ second consecutive loss in the competition following their 2-1 defeat to Panama last week after kicking off with a 2-0 win over Bolivia on matchday one.
Carter-Vickers was overlooked by head coach Gregg Berhalter who is now under extreme pressure after the country’s latest defeat at the Arrowhead stadium in Kansas.
Alistair Johnston is now the only Celtic representative in the competition with Canada due to meet Venezuela in the quarter-final on Saturday morning.
The Hoops are due to fly out to The States on Saturday July 20 where they face three warm-up games against DC United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
