I was walking back from a game with my dad recently and we got counting how many times Celtic had won the league in our lifetimes. For me, it’s now 34. Only two more have been won in my dad’s lifetime. He’s 25 years older than me, and one of those two was won the year before I was born.
It is impossible for those of us who have only lived during the last 60 years to get our heads around how rare a Celtic title win was during the 40 years before Jock Stein arrived and reinvented the club. Whenever you read that our game has become “tedious”, fill your boots with how you and I are living through Generations of Domination like no team has ever dominated before, not even Stein’s great side.
By being such imperious champions, we have elevated Scottish football. League Cup wins by anyone but Celtic are celebrated like never before. The same is true for our League Cup wins, the value everyone else places on winning a trophy seeps into our sense of achievement. There are no lesser trophies in Scotland now, because Celtic create such scarcity.
Sport thrives with great champions, they pack stadiums, set standards for others to chase and inspire the next generation. They will never admit it, but Celtic are a gift to every other team in Scotland.
Congratulations to Brendan, the players, the board, the backroom team and every last person who cheered the team along this season. Champions again!

The most telling point, as the Guardian alludes, is when the matriarch of the settler movement pushes Theroux on the pretext of making a particular point, then later says with a wry smile “I wish you’d pushed me back”. The settler approach to Palestine could not be more succinctly put.

Following on from that series of those successful warm up games in USA against the EPL’s best the season that has followed has just been terrific culminating with yet another Championship on Saturday. in addition qualifying for the lucrative new look Champions Lge and a wonderful run in that competition and almost forgot the League Cup.
Great respect shown to the minutes silence in memory of Pope Francis. Francis was a big football fan and was a season ticket holder of San Lorenzo one of the top five clubs in Argentina and of course we remember he met the Celtic players and staff prior to one of our European games in Italy.
Congrats to the squad and backroom team for wrapping up the Championship with still 4 matches left to play in readiness for the playoff match for qualification for the Champions League.
