Just when you thought it was safe to have hope for the remainder of Celtic’s season, 13 of the squad, as well as Neil Lennon and John Kennedy have to isolate. This is in addition to Christopher Jullien, who tested positive over the weekend.
This has been a failure by design. Celtic did what was permitted, not what was wise. We have been out-thought and out-planned all season, on and off the field. The latest crisis happened because a player with a long-term injury travelled for warm weather training. Where to being? From a position of weakness, we needed to not put a foot wrong during the second half of the season, instead, we have become a morality tale for others to learn from.
If you like watching Celtic with overwhelming odds to fight against, you should enjoy the games ahead.

Most were opposed to the seeming “reward” of a Dubai trip because of the Ibrox result rather than for the strictly-Covid related reasons.

If the rumours are true, then we’ll have a strong starting eleven for the next few games. Fingers crossed there’s no more positive cases.
It would appear we’ve had the foresight to break the squad into starters and substitutes while travelling which has saved our bacon.
Imagine though had the positive case been detected in other half of the travelling squad.
By pure chance we should be ok. Our management is a disgrace and Neil Lennon has to, at some stage, be held accountable.

I still don’t get why the trip to Dubai is being cited as a contributor to the Covid outbreak. Dubai had a lower rate of infection when we flew out than the UK (or Scotland).

Main reason likely would be the Test & Protect impact – players were in an enclosed space (on a flight) – possibly at less than recommended spacing and for longer than an acceptable time – i.e., less than two meters distant for more than 15 minutes cummulatively over a 24 hour period.
Additional issue is increasing evidence of aerosol spread, plus incidence of new variation of the virus.
That wouldn’t be the case in Lennoxtown.
Travelling in a plane increased the risk to a higher level than would otherwise have been the case. It was certainly not essential.

Good point about plane travel – if Julienne was on it ! Would travelling on the Celtic bus to and from away grounds constitute just as big a risk as a private plane? Or indeed to/from the Airports?

So, when did Julien get it? Before, on the way there, in Dubai, on the way back or since he returned?
Presumably he tested negative before we left. Assume it was a private plane so only mingling with members of our club – all of whom had tested negative.
Did he get it in Dubai, if so was he the only person coming in to contact with the virus (from people or surfaces)? Was there testing whilst there? Was there testing before leaving?
13 players and 2 coaching staff within 2 metres for more than 15 minutes? Why so many? Or perhaps more pertinent, why so few?
I would just like a few more facts because something doesn’t add up.
