Celtic: a morality tale

422

Just when you thought it was safe to have hope for the remainder of Celtic’s season, 13 of the squad, as well as Neil Lennon and John Kennedy have to isolate.  This is in addition to Christopher Jullien, who tested positive over the weekend.

This has been a failure by design.  Celtic did what was permitted, not what was wise.  We have been out-thought and out-planned all season, on and off the field.  The latest crisis happened because a player with a long-term injury travelled for warm weather training.  Where to being?  From a position of weakness, we needed to not put a foot wrong during the second half of the season, instead, we have become a morality tale for others to learn from.

If you like watching Celtic with overwhelming odds to fight against, you should enjoy the games ahead.

Best wishes to Christopher Jullien for a complete recovery.

It’s that bad I’m thinking of marching on hampden, banning the BBC then denying this season ever happened. I’m sure the msm would back us up

Don’t think there will be much homework getting done tonight anywhere in Scotland. Such is the state of Scottish education that the Teams delivery system has been down.

Yet another thing the SNP government will be wanting to deflect attention from.

BREAKING: Hibernian have consulted their players today over whether they feel comfortable playing in tonight’s game; some are believed to have reservations about participating, but it is unclear at this stage if any have chosen not to play.

  5. My own feeling is we probably did not want to upset a physio by leaving one behind to treat one player so maybe trying to keep the group together was the decent thing to do .

I am searching for a plausible reason that he went it’s the only one I can think of

are any of the physios. Told to self isolated I think that’s strange if not as it means no treatment if we dragged him over there and he got no rehab sessions!

I think their approach is fundamentally wrong, but I’m prepared to accept that they are doing what they think is best for Celtic.

    ———

    So am I.

But I wish they’d either find another way, or move aside and let other people who think they could do so have a go.

  7. MADRARUA @12.33

You are 100% correct. I said a week or so ago that the “Old Firm” was bigger than both Celtic and thems.

Because of our dominance for the past 10 years, interest in said Old Firm was on the slide and that of course impacts on revenue. So, deal done then. Let thems win the league and revitalise the interest again and we’ll all be happy.

    Disgraceful and corrupt as hell.

Tony Soprano would be pleased to operate that way.

    Seriously pissed off.

The board cannor be allowed to get away with this.

I think if Celtic get the blame from Holyrood for Microsoft Teams going on the blink then that’s 1-0 for the Nat-bashers.

Not sure who first said this on CQN, and paraphrasing or misquoting here, but whatever happened to Whatever part of my team Celtic needs The Rangers, I can do without! ? 🤔 I suspect that a majority of Fans would align with this way of thinking, which is probably the opposite of Celtic PLC’s strategy…

Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, has revealed that when the Hoops first spoke of a winter training camp, Dubai was not mentioned. ?

Surely she would have recommended staying nearby, maybe even InverClyde which she deemed to be Tier 2 up until recently (pubs open ! if only i’d known) . and which local authority has the highest figures right now ?

What did they say about the pubs/Aberdeen players ?

What did Leitch say about Acohol ?

And they put us in Tier 4 as a precaution against the second strain ?

  21. “Jullien is the fifth Celtic player to test positive for Covid-19, with David Turnbull, Odsonne Edouard, Nir Bitton and Hatem Abd Elhamed previously contracting the virus while on international duty.” – BBC

Would previously contracting Covid mean that these 4 players are immune and so available to play tonight ?

  22. Bhoy From The Boyne on

I don’t blame Hibs players reservations if true & unsurprised by Petrie/Dempster playing politics.

At the end of the day, probably 25/26 first team members sat on that flight for 7 hours with an infected person. Some things are more important than football.

I know what I would say to my boss if I was expected to attend for work after other staff where on a plane with an infected person.

    Nada!

Club management has only themselves to blame for this mess at expense of supporters.

Hopefully no other persons are infected and we come out of this with no additional cases.

  23. It is very convenient for Ms. Sturgeon to keep Celtic in the forefront as a water-cooler topic or whatever is the equivalent in this working from home period.

For someone who claims little interest in football, and who pretended to be unaware that the government had granted permission, she grabbed this wee nugget about the application being originally for another country from somewhere in her memory.

Or has someone been briefing her to say this?

    Strange behaviour all round.

Might even get some Nats to wonder if she’s as innocent as she pretends.
