Celtic and the other form team in the league

126

Hamilton Accies had a remarkable season in the sun under Billy Reid when James McCarthy, James McArthur and Alex Neil took them into the top flight a few years back, but while they no longer have a midfield packed with that kind of talent, this season’s incarnation are delivering above expectations.

They’ve lost only once in 10 outings (all in the league), a run which goes back to the middle of September. They’ve taken points from six of the top seven teams, only Celtic, whom they’ve yet to face, haven’t suffered at their hands. This is a hard team to beat.

Brendan Rodgers will look at this game as an opportunity to rest some limbs. Scott Brown had a busy autumn for club and country; he looks fresh, but that’s the way to keep him. I’d be tempted to give Nir Bitton a start in his place.

Mikael Lustig and Craig Gordon are others who may benefit from a rest. Like Jozo Simunovic is now both were considered too fragile to play multiple games in a week in recent times. We’ll need them, and Scott, before the month is out.

  1. What gives anyone any confidence in the competence of PL to deal with the Oldco/Newco/SFA issues?

(Think of the RD shambles/European failures/transfers/Sevco winning at Hampden/disclosure of personal data to Police etc etc)

That’s before I even get to the PLC’s motivations.

VFR & Hot Smoked should be commended in my view. Their Q&A’s might have revealed to many on here the arrogance and probable incompetence of those with their fingers in the till at Celtic Park.

  2. Some comments on here about why postings are down.

I’m on my desk top computer at work and it is great!

    No ads, quick, perfect.

My new lap top at home is a nightmare!

In spite of loading the adblockers I get loads of ads, site is slow, especially when turning pages and sometimes when I’m trying to type a post the bliddy type does not appear, then when you retype you get double the words!

You know when an ad is about to appear as my screen freezes for a few seconds before the next ad turns up!

Bliddy nightmare and not worth the hassle.

Although in saying that, I will be logged on for updates tonight if I can stand the fannying about as we are not on the telly tonight.

  3. Think Broony will play tonight – he’s suspended for the Dundee game. Agree though Paul would personally stick Gamboa in again and this time rest Lustig, whilst good as any a game to play De Vries

I’d imagine dembele will start but would love Sparky on the pitch, needs a bit of run too stay sharp and happy

  4. Patrick27

I would like Griffiths to start tonight too!

I think if Brendan is going to rotate the squad, especially this month (9 games) best to do so in home games.

I’d also like to see Christie on from the start.

However, not too many changes at the one time.

  5. PAUL67

Agree, replace Broony with Nir Bitton.

    That’s like for like, eh?

Bitton has none of Broony’s qualities, none at all.

He is slow, poor in the air, weak in the tackle, in fact a big fearty!

Henderson to replace Broony tonight, if we must.

The bhoy is quick, strong in the tackle, a good passer and a lovely crosser of the ball.

    And he is BRAVE.

So, why would you play Bitton?

Surely if we are going to rotate the squad we need to give the youngsters a chance.

If we are not prepared to pick them we might as well ship them out next window.

I disagree that Celtic have any current issues at all with the UEFA SFA SPFL over Oldco or Newco. That is just wishful thinking on the betrayed customers part.

Celtic PLC is only accountable to one shareholder.

    ( See Res 12)

Titles will never be scrapped because there is one thing that this PLC hates more than inquiring customers and that is when those inquiries are refund based.

Do you think anybody would ask for a refund? I assume the basis of the request being that Celtic knew they were cheating but made nothing of it, and therefore took monies under a false premise.

The PLC will not even countenance it and never have. Anathema to billionaire neo liberals and their well paid dogs bodies. Instinctive behaviour for such people. Welcome to Celtic PLC

I didn’t ask whether they’d consider it. I asked whether anybody would actually ask for one. Do you think any supporter would ask for one? nb (this is not a loaded ‘true supporters’ wouldn’t type question). I just don’t think anybody would that’s all.

Good Morning Bhoys from a dry and mild Central Scotland. We must be careful tonight and not turn up expecting whatever team we put out will just brush Hamilton aside and win 3-0 tonight is one of the types of match where a slip up is possible. We need to approach the game as though it were the cup-final itself go for Hamilton right from the kick off and press them high up the park and any kind of win will do.H.H.

  13. AWE_NAW_NO_ANNONI_OAN_ANAW_NOO on 13TH DECEMBER 2016 11:06 AM

I’ve absolutely no doubt that some have written stating they feel that they’ve paid into a corrupted product. Whether they’ve broached the possibility of a refund – which may be the logical endpoint – I don’t know.

It all hinges on whether it can be proven that the club knew what was going on and condoned it for the sake of the OF.

iPhone is a mare, Adblocker doesn’t seem to work on the phone? At least I never saw an app for the phone. iPad is okay using Dolphin browser but in general I agree the site is a bloody nightmare at times.

Hopefully the Griff is unleashed again tonight, for my money a much better striker than Dembele, 20-30 million in January? I would bite your hand off for that.

    Weeminger,

There is a distinction as far as the PLC is concerned.

    The PLC thinks

Supporters = mindless mannah from heaven

Customers and non majority shareholders = kid gloves

I honestly don’t have a clue anymore what is going on with Res 12.

I agree with the point about the PLC possibly not having any issues with the administrators of their game. It was more a point about general incompetence across a number of business indicators.

Basically I don’t trust his judgement unfortunately.

For a while I have thought that might only hear something about Sevco, titles when it affects the bottom line. When/if Season Ticket sales are in decline as a result of the penny dropping among supporters/when BR leaves and Sevco in Europe etc.

For the record, I’m not totally against what you’re saying but one thing is definitely true, they’ll say absolutely nothing on it at all until the BTC is fully concluded. So in that respect I don’t think about it too often at the moment.

    Correct.

It’s been going on for about three years now. We are frequently informed of the “increase in unique users” yet posts have fallen off a cliff.

We had 50 then 40 now 38 posts per page. If people get locked out every time they post, click on a link, refresh a page or even simply attempt to move to the next one,are they counted as “unique users” as they have to start again?

This is the go-to site IMO,and obviously many people agree. But nowhere near as many as in the past.

It has lost a considerable number of long-term quality posters.

Up to the powers-that-be whether they wish to witness further decline,or mibbe do something about it.

PHILBHOY’s posts earlier are an excellent example of the above.
