Celtic and the other form team in the league

126

Hamilton Accies had a remarkable season in the sun under Billy Reid when James McCarthy, James McArthur and Alex Neil took them into the top flight a few years back, but while they no longer have a midfield packed with that kind of talent, this season’s incarnation are delivering above expectations.

They’ve lost only once in 10 outings (all in the league), a run which goes back to the middle of September. They’ve taken points from six of the top seven teams, only Celtic, whom they’ve yet to face, haven’t suffered at their hands. This is a hard team to beat.

Brendan Rodgers will look at this game as an opportunity to rest some limbs. Scott Brown had a busy autumn for club and country; he looks fresh, but that’s the way to keep him. I’d be tempted to give Nir Bitton a start in his place.

Mikael Lustig and Craig Gordon are others who may benefit from a rest. Like Jozo Simunovic is now both were considered too fragile to play multiple games in a week in recent times. We’ll need them, and Scott, before the month is out.

  1. Few points re reading back while on way to the game on the world famous Tommy Gemmell CSC.

    1. There has been no problems with ads.

    2. Someone mentioned James Forrest’s site re ads not being as bad. Actually that site is owned by the ad company that supplies CQN. They also own Videocelts. We have cut back on their ad spaces over the past few months to a significant level and are always on their case re problems that we are made aware of. One of these problems was an error showing in a Ladbrokes ad last weekend.

    3. The audience on CQN is much bigger now than before. In September over 340,000 users was easily the biggest ever figure achieved.

    4. If you have specific problems on mobile I have suggested turning off Javascript in Settings then Safari – it resolves the problem.

    5. If you get a rogue ad interfering and taking you away somewhere else – copy the URL of the ad, email it to me and we’ll block it. Many of these ads are spam related and do not create any revenue.

PS Tommy is in a better place at the moment which I’m very happy about.

  2. I scanned back on my phone to see the conversation about the pop ups, I’ve given up with the ipad as it’s driving me to distraction.

As TET suggested a monthly fee would suit some, it could be voluntary as I realise it might drive some away due to personal reasons.

The pop ups has definitely affected this great blog of Paul. HH

  3. Really useful adblocker is one called uBlock Origin.

If, like me, you happen to watch sports on dodgy sausages or films online you will have noticed that when you click to play a stream it can open a new window and these can be a bugger to shut down.

uBlock Origin does the same as adblock but also has a wee button that once clicked stops you popping off to other pages.

I run it as an extension on chrome. Makes watching films and online sports enjoyable once more.

  4. The SFA carrying out an investigation into child abuse in football – they are the last group you would want to be carrying out any investigation – an absolute certainty they would make a complete arse of it – they cant even organize a televised live cup draw – not to mention their cover up of all things deidco – their findings would be completely unreliable if not downright deliberately misleading. Far too important an issue to involve that lot..

  5. Not bad Samsung with confirmed download speed 8Mbps. It takes split second to dowload gallery with HD pictures from photo.net or similar website. In comparison, it takes 33 seconds (!) to download CQN article after refresh. Revcontent or similar kills it. I do not read CQN on my phone. Sometimes I lurk or post on PC.

  6. Hunderbirds are Gone on

Just heard there is a meteor shower tonight too……….

………. as opposed to the normal shower of bampots on here :-)

  7. ALMORE

I can meet you anywhere on sat morning. Are you flying into Glasgow or

Prestwick, do you need picked up at airport….??? If anyone else wants me to collect theirs just let me know.

  8. Unfortunately there may be some that cannot afford subscriptions and I certainly couldn’t have when I first joined.

One of the good things about cqn is that it is accessible to everyone and I believe it would be the wrong thing to do to make it exclusively for those that can afford it.

What about a wee meter on the sites start page/sidebar or somewhere obvious showing the sites monthly fee required, total contributions so far and how much is still needed to meet the required total?

A straight red card to anyone that says ‘donation made’ might not be a bad thing either!

Perhaps anything extra can roll over as a head start to the following month or be donated to a worthy cause?

I’d say anything is worth a go to stop the block adds/disable/re-enable JavaScript malarkey…….grrrrrrr!!!!!!
