CELTIC AND VACCINATION RULES UPDATE

CELTIC are the first Scottish club to announce they will be enforcing new proof of vaccination rules when they face Ferencvaros at Parkhead on tomorrow afternoon.

Ange Postecoglou will take his side into their third Europa League Group G game against the Hungarians with an unusual kick-off time of 3.30pm, owing to the COP26 Climate Conference taking place in Glasgow.

The so-called ‘grace period’ is now set to end and clubs are no longer allowed trial runs of their procedures to check if fans are double jabbed.

According to new Scottish Government rules, anyone attending any event with a capacity of 10,000 or more MUST have had both doses of a Covid vaccine.

Celtic have told supporters they will accept three different forms of certification.

Followers can bring a printed-out copy of their vaccine certificate, show a digital copy such as a PDF from their phone screen or download the NHS Scotland Covid Check app — though many fans have complained the last option often does not recognise their details.

Celtic have released the following statement:

As Celtic prepare for UEFA Europa League Matchday 3 on Tuesday, October 19, supporters attending the match versus Ferencvaros TC at Celtic Park are advised that updated Government legislation is now in place.

This new legislation means that any supporter attending matches at Celtic Park (and other stadia with crowds of 10,000 or more) should be fully vaccinated and be prepared to provide visual proof of this to gain entry to the stadium, unless exempt.

Celtic FC are obliged to follow Scottish Government legislation and would like to thank our supporters in advance for their patience, co-operation and understanding.

PROOF OF VACCINATION

Supporters are asked to arrive with one of the following ready to show to stewards on approach to Celtic Park:

A printed version of their vaccine certificate

A digital copy of their vaccine certificate

Proof of vaccination through the NHS Scotland Covid Check app

EXEMPTIONS 

Supporters who are exempt from a vaccination must be prepared to provide evidence of this. Exemptions are applicable to those:

Under the age of 18

Not able to get the vaccine for medical reasons

Taking part in vaccine trials

Matchday employees and volunteers

CERTIFICATE/EXEMPTION CHECKS

Random spot checks will be carried out by stewards on approach to Celtic Park, in line with this Scottish Government guidance and all supporters attending must be prepared to provide proof of vaccination or exemption.

Please ensure you arrive as early as possible on matchday to avoid any delays in entering the stadium while these checks take place.
