CELTIC BRAZILIAN TARGET: EUROPE COULD SWING IT

BRAZILIAN striker Jonathas has admitted the prospect of playing in the Champions League could lure him to Celtic, as CQN Magazine exclusively revealed on Tuesday.

The Pescara frontman, currently on loan with Spanish outfit Elche, has said he would be very interested in a summer move to the four-in-a-row SPFL champions.

Parkhead scouts have made regular checks on the 26-year-old who has netted 12 goals in the Spanish top flight. Ronny Deila has received rave reports about the hitman.

His parent club are looking for around £4million for Jonathas, but Italian sources claim the asking price could be reduced.
La Liga side Sevilla head a list of other interested parties, but the South American has admitted Champions League football could be key as he assesses his options and that he welcomes Celtic’s interest.

Jonathas said: “I know Celtic have sent their people to watch me this year. That is a big honour.

“I know all about Celtic, how big they are in Europe, how respected they are and about their fans.

“And they win their league, which means they are consistently qualifying for the Champions League.

“Any player will tell you the ultimate dream is to be playing against the best in the Champions League.

“For now, nothing is decided. We do not have many games left this season, so we need to finish strongly and end up in the best possible position.

“In the summer, I can sit down with my agent and look at everything.”

CQN Magazine also broke the story that Hearts skipper Danny Wilson is a summer target for Celtic, some two weeks ahead of the MSM.
