That’ll do me nicely. Smashing day all round. Seemed much better when Dave came on. Better balance meaning Stokesy and Hoops could play much closer together. Fans brilliant again and delighted for Neil after yet another hard week. Bring on Wednesday. HH.
Zaragosa player blessed himself………what is he thinkin’….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m talking too much…
But ref my last post, I’m also reminded of a BBC documentary about the fella that worked for Strathclyde’s Finest and became involved in the commnunity side of things. After developping a good relationship with his local Asian community, he made several trips to India and became a significant character there for his work.
As a result of this he was given the remit by Strathclyde Polis to continue in this role and to also conduct a few seminars with the local constables on race relations.
Apart from the great work this fella was doing, what was evident from that programme was the barriers this man was up against.
Some footage of one of his seminars to about 30 polis, showed a couple of non-uniformed officers sitting at the front sniggering like schoolboys.
The man was un-fazed.
Decent fella. If Campbell Corrigan could spend his time finding and recruiting officers of that calibre, it does seem to me that Glasgow could be just that wee bit better a place to live.
Suppose the problem is that most folk of that standing aren’t masons though, eh.
Interesting to see Butcher up to his tricks again today…I have no dislike of Inverness, but , I would love it if, the next time we play them ,we could beat them and get them relegated.
Also I am getting p***** off with teams who don’t water their pitch / cut the grass purely to interrupt our style of play. I don’t have a problem with that as they aren’t breaking any rules.
So why don’t we do the same ?
Could we conveniently have a flood in the away changing room and make the Motherwell’s and Inverness’ change on their team bus, or at a marquee in the car park?
After all, all iis fair in love and war
googybhoy
Yep, saw Phil’s article earlier.
Oh the irony, eh.
In my opinion, the whole Western edifice is now crumbling, banks, ins companies, any entity needing to borrow market money is in big trouble. The poor and disenfranchised have borne the pain again, for the last 30 years, and now even worse, under the Tories.
Celtic are bound to be in the institutional crosshairs, dam Catholic upstarts! Ignorantly blunt tactics being waged, e.g. some weak policeman and the old media, almost laughable. God knows what the next 5 years will be like.

I knew a Punjabi guy in Glasgow who followed PTFC home and away . He grew up in Kinning Park . He told me that he had spent 13 school years pretending to support the Hun —
” the alternative was death ”

TET,
It’s easily answered actually.
The Asian community in the UK have had as bad if not similar amount of abuse to tolerate as the Irish/Catholic community in Scotland.
As Asian schooling is rare, and resisted against by the establishment, kids from these communities are usually more likely to attend the so-called non-denominational schools. Being minorities in these schools, and given the not insignificant influence of the meeja here, kids will fit in as is human nature, and support Rangers.
But it’s not as widespread or sweeping as that.
Most of the Asian lads I grew up with loved football, but payed little attention to the Scottish game.
If it wasn’t for the meeja, more Asians would realise that Celtic Park is where they belong, and where they are welcome.
Clashcitybhoy
Lenny hinted at that again today. It’s one of the many subtle tactics they deploy to stop us playing football.
And they wonder why Scotland is rapidly becoming the laughing stock of European football.
TET,
I have a bit of experience in this area.
1. Stupidity.
2. Money customer catchment
3. Their cultures are historically entwined with kissing establishment backside
4. Their religion. Catholicism is a religion they want to quash.
That’s it in a nutshell.
HH
Maybe this thought has already been posted. After today’s celebration of the USA at ipox it would be interesting if the duo from India on trial at the minute would ever get their day. Maybe the colours of their national flag could cause concern.
Clashcitybhoy…….you are so correct…….the ‘grass’ strategy is a pathetic joke……
Twinbhoy
Well said bud. That’s definitely one of the factors in all this. The historical evidence is there. When the right-wing take power, they make a point of snuffing out groups and elements of society that they consider left-wing or subversive, while right-wing extremist groups are allowed to flourish. It’s a classic divide and conquer approach.
Fortune Favour Mibbes, like your thinking on community outreach. As used to be said: “Bhoys Against Bigotry – Take a Hun to Mass.” :-)
Still deeply sceptical about Lenny’s ability to pull it off this season, but feeling much cheerier today than for a long time.

No being from the west coast, Glasgow in particular, how come there seem to me to be so many Indian/Pakastanis support the hun, or am I seriously mistaken.
———————————
Not sure hoe true that is. My mates at Glasgow university in the 70s were Sihks and supported the Celtic. They often sang “I would rather wear a turban than a sash” in the Jungle.
They did say that they never were Celtic colours in town as they would be picked on by Huns even more so than usual.

TET
The handful of asian guys I know that are actually bothered about Scottish Football are all good Celtic men. I’ll see if I can find out what the split is and why.
Well done today Bhoys.
Mind the gap huns!

Can we expect police raids in the Dunfermline area perhaps?

For the first time I can recall – have to strongly disagree with you there. imo it’s more down to the reasons I gave to TET.
Your generalising unfairly. I”ve never encountered the remotest hint of religious bigotry from the many I knew.
It’s just not in their mindset at all. Another western myth.

Garbage.

Tis a good idea…but would the financial and emotional investment pay off? Would take a lot of effort:)
Have faith in Lenny. He knows what he’s doing.
Forrest’s looking as important to us this season as commons was last !

Mind boggling mince .A friend from Liverpool still talks of a Scottish girl he met one night on his hols, fastforward 3 months and she and a friend were
in Blackpool when he received a text asking if they came down to Liverpool for the afternoon would he meet them.He did.The meeting place was a bar in the city centre, thinking ahead of potential conquests he texted around his mates to see if any could help. One mate arrived….HI this is my good mate
Liam he tells 2 of Ayrshires finest….within seconds Liam was asked his religion ! Why ask that says Liam ? My dad has always said dont trust catholics !

What a day to be up the toon Christmas shopping……….
Just back and received two early pressies.
Well done Neil, well done Bhoys
Poor old Steve Lomas at St J, he’ll be terribly conflicted, eh?
I’m guessing the hunderminers have been otherwise engaged. Perhaps another costume change is required?
HHH.
A Hoops win. Feet up, a bottle of Jameson and 12 beer. Life is good bhoys
FFM
Not clever.
Paul Wilson was of Indian descent and
that chant is now an embarresment.
Thanks for the answers bhoys.
No reason in particular I asked, but a pic during the week had GB memebrs in it, and most were Asian.
I understand the money thing, and I understand the fear thing, but ffs people grow up, and the self same people realise who hates them.
It’s only my experiance of Asians seeming to be huns, as I said I could be well wrong, I just think it’s apt in todays climate.
Sorry bhoys but that’s my take having had extensive experience and mainly with well educated Pakistani Rangers fans. They are Moslems. Our ideology sits better with them. Hate for none love for all. The national flag of Pakistan is green and white. When I have debated it. They agree with me on it. It is only having had long healthy relationships with them and always having come to a stalemate. I.e they should be supporting us that these aspects of their culture have never been denied.
Last word on it.
HH
Let’s here some substance to your arguments bhoys.

In Praise of Auldheid
His work on here and other blogs, but most especially on RTCba
Is made the more remakable by it’s indefutable resolve to lay
bare a series of very curious events that occurred around and
before a most certainly incurious scottish press corps were stirred
to inactive attention the already flint scraping of truth, others had
sparked in attentive gatherings the few dry remnant words
in bundled kindling that has so far afforded a low hob set broiling
the still chewy state of the ringers.
Instead of providing a much larger copper bottomed vessel for their
Public stewing and the more heavyweight use of a commensurate
stirring…the cooks of SFA county decided to turn down the gas level
to a simmering low degree of anticipation any chance the final plate
will reach any table of thoughtful discourse it’s inedibility.
Auldheid, I salute your infigatibility against the trio on RTC
whose motives of self preservation are as plai.
Apologies if I have started something, twas unintentional I assure you.
Did anyone notice, after Stokesie’s first goal today, as he made his way back to the half way line, he was congratulated by Richie Foran of ICT? I assume they know each other from Dublin football circles.
Wonder if he’ll get the same treatment from ICT fans that we gave to Mark Brown?
