GREG TAYLOR could lead the Celtic clear-out with fringe stars Odin Holm and Stephen Welsh set to join him through the exit.
The Scotland international left-back is free to talk to any interested clubs tomorrow after knocking back new terms at the champions.
Taylor’s contract officially expires in the summer, but there has been no movement between the player and the club over the past few months.
Dinamo Zagreb, who had a close-up look at the 27-year-old defender in the 0-0 Champions League draw with Brendan Rodgers’ side earlier this month, have been linked with the player who cost £2.1million when he joined from Kilmarnock in September 2019.
TOTALLY FOCUSED…Greg Taylor during Celtic’s Premier Sports League Cup Final win this month.
Taylor has been named as a priority of the Croatian title holders’ new head coach Fabio Cannavaro, according to a report in the Scottish Sun.
However, Zagreb may exercise the option of landing the full-back on a pre-contract arrangement rather than pay a transfer fee in next month’s window.
Norwegian midfielder Odin Holm, who cost £3million from Valerenga in June 2023, is also a wanted man with MLS outfit LAFC keen to get a deal done for a player who clearly does not figure in Rodgers’ immediate first-team plans.
The Irishman has strength in depth in midfield following his addition of Paulo Bernardo at £3.5million from Benfica after the Portuguese playmaker’s impressive season-long loan and he then splashed a record £11million to land Arne Engels from Augsburg on deadline day before completing the summer moves with the £1million recruitment of Luke McCowan from Dundee.
ON THE MOVE…Norwegian midfielder Odin Holm in a rare first-team appearances in the 2-0 win over Hibs at Easter Road in August.
Holm is eager for game-time and he is now expected to head Stateside.
The 21-year-old middle-of-the-park operator has made just three substitute appearances this season and a temporary transfer could be arranged with LAFC.
Back-up defender Welsh, who is behind Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty and Liam Scales in the battle for central rearguard places, remains a loan target for KV Mechelen, according to the Daily Record.
The Belgian club have already been unsuccessful in two moves for the former Scotland Under-21 international skipper.
They are prepared to renew their interest in the 24-year-old centre-back and that could see the shift rubberstamped with the Parkhead club poised to cut short Dane Murray’s loan period at Queen’s Park.
It’s shaping up to be a hectic transfer window.
