Celtic look set to continue their cornering of the French youth international team by capturing Olivier Ntcham (21) this week. He would be the most recent signing in a productive relationship with Manchester City which has seen Patrick Roberts, Dedryck Boyata and Jason Denayer all make the journey to from Manchester to Glasgow.
Olivier joined City as a 16-year-old and has been on loan at Genoa for the last two years. The player will doubtlessly be impressed by the progress of Roberts and international teammate, Moussa Dembele, at Celtic Park.
Ntcham is an attacking central midfield player who will compete with Tom Rogic and Stuart Armstrong for a place in the team. At 21, he has played a lot less football than either of them, but with 30-odd games in Serie A under his belt whose progress has been meticulously planned by City since 16, we should be getting someone first-team ready.
A year ago, we were told our signings were a reaction to the arrival in town of Joey Barton. I wonder who has us worried this year? Or maybe we just plan our business well, pay our bills, tax and NI, then spend whatever is left over. Like we have done for 20 years.

rangersmedia bears den has a thread titled “Revolting Fans, Media Agitation and the almost inevitable ‘Conflict'”
On this thread, one of their rabid followers posting under the moniker gaffbear posted this about an hour ago:
“I’d prefer arson attacks and car bombs but before that there should be a 100% withdrawal of our fans at their middens.”
This shows the level of their intelligence when they take to on line forums agitating for arson and bombings. I’m no legal expert but I’m pretty certain that the first line in the above statement is a crime in this country.
They have some seriously deranged supporters.

It is indeed a crime.
The Lyon game will be a great opportunity for our French Connection to play againdt their countrymen.
Another thought.
If the names of the, to date, hidden EBT recipients are ever revealed, the interesting part will be the speculation on what they were received for.
Media?
Refs?
Administrators?
Agents?
Ebt refs
Was thinking earlier how “lucky”were they on the road to Manchester

Is Ayer injured?
He was yesterday
Ajer and Eboue are apparently injured, well at least they were.
i too get too anxious when Erik plays, especially if we go 3 at the back, he’s too slow and (no laughing at the back) his passing goes more awry than big Tatum’s

It’s ok,the ‘decent’ ones amongst them will prevail.
That’s how the KKK successfully reformed, from the ‘decency’ within.
‘Decent’ ones…hahahahaha.
Mild Mannered Pedro Delgrado,
‘Payments made via EBTs were agreed in “side letters”, which were separate agreements to employment contracts and were hidden from the taxman and the football authorities.’
Rob Davies, The Guardian, 5th July.

‘…The clear opinion of Senior Counsel is that there is a very limited chance of the Scottish FA succeeding in relation to any complaint regarding this matter and that, even if successful, any sanctions available to a Judicial Panel would also be limited in their scope.
Accordingly, having had time to consider the opinion from Senior Counsel, and having examined the judgment of the UK Supreme Court, the Board has determined that no further disciplinary action should be taken by the Scottish FA at this time.’
SFA Statement 5th July 2017,
Unless the SFA Board had advance disclosure of the Supreme Court verdict, it is astonishing that the Board ‘could examine’ the Supreme Court judgment within hours and arrive at their No Further Action decision.
Okay they engaged an anonymous QC to offer advice in the event of a decision in favour of HMRC. How could the whole Board be satisfied with the nuances of the decision? It might not have been unanimous for example. Why they didn’t wait a few days to ‘examine the verdict’ and then issue an NFA is beyond me. It is amateurish and arrogant. Maybe it was just a wing and a prayer panic gesture?
There is a very fine line between the SFA and the Board at Ibrox.
A full and independent investigation is necessary to establish what happened. Who knew what and when (side letters). Is an amnesty needed? I don’t know?
At the moment there can be no confidence in the management of the administration of Scottish football and that must be a concern for all supporters…They can’t even fix a draw properly…
Questions for the games sponsors and other financial supporters.
Thanks & HH
Celtic have taken Chelsea defender Kyle Jameson on trial, with a view to a loan move this season.
The 18-year-old Englishman still has a year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge after joining in January.
Jameson, who is a 6ft 3in left-footed centre half, was released by Everton at the age of 13 for being too small.
He was spotted by Chelsea in December 2016 whilst playing with sixth-tier side Southport, having previously been playing Sunday league football, and was handed an 18-month deal after a successful trial.
His competitive match time was limited after joining, however, because he was cup tied in the FA Youth Cup.
Jameson arrived in Glasgow on Sunday evening and will spend the next couple of weeks with Brendan Rodgers’s side.
___
Peculiar story.
If you ask me, it’s more likely a permanent deal. I cannot see the point in loaning in somebody who is barely a professional footballer.
Would he be a starter? Probably not. Would you want an 18 year old to cover your first choice players? No.
Clogher Celt,
Both HMRC and BDO had the SC judgement a week before it was publicly delivered.
Ample time for the SFA to have been shown it, possibly via BDO.

I don’t get why we’re taking this boy when we have Ajer in the squad??
Strange
looks like Murray is cruising, while Raonic is struggling against the next Federer …. good thing none of you guys took me up on my wager!

i didn’t want to be accused of taking candy from a baby.
Anyone got a YouTube or other football related site that shows refereeing decisions against Sevco old or new? Anyone? Anyone? Testing, testing.
A question to ask sevconian ‘it was all Murrays fault, we did nothing illegal’ types:
If nothing that the former RFC did was wrong why are you now blaming Murray? Or Whyte? What exactly did they do that killed the club? If it wasn’t the ebts, the associated side letters to hide them from tax and football authorities, then what was it?
The Hibby from Dunblane wins 3-0
Raymac – there’s a compilation of the throw in they should have got in 1989. From which Celtic scored after a passage of play, in which Celtic lost possession as I recall.
But it evens things out I think.
Nadal 2 sets down.
HJ … that is very decent of you! :)
This Zverev kid look really good!

Parties lawyers normally get notice of the judgement a week before publication. They may be a allowed to inform clients of the decision, but not until 24 hours before publication.
The decision is subject to a very strict embargo.
There’s no way the SFA were pre warned.
In any case, the judgement could really only have gone one of two ways, so even an organisation as incompetent as the SFA could have had contingency plans to cover either option.

This is quite old but some of the stuff on here is astonishing, truly incredible.
