Celtic look set to continue their cornering of the French youth international team by capturing Olivier Ntcham (21) this week. He would be the most recent signing in a productive relationship with Manchester City which has seen Patrick Roberts, Dedryck Boyata and Jason Denayer all make the journey to from Manchester to Glasgow.
Olivier joined City as a 16-year-old and has been on loan at Genoa for the last two years. The player will doubtlessly be impressed by the progress of Roberts and international teammate, Moussa Dembele, at Celtic Park.
Ntcham is an attacking central midfield player who will compete with Tom Rogic and Stuart Armstrong for a place in the team. At 21, he has played a lot less football than either of them, but with 30-odd games in Serie A under his belt whose progress has been meticulously planned by City since 16, we should be getting someone first-team ready.
A year ago, we were told our signings were a reaction to the arrival in town of Joey Barton. I wonder who has us worried this year? Or maybe we just plan our business well, pay our bills, tax and NI, then spend whatever is left over. Like we have done for 20 years.

The Exiled Tim, hopefully the residents of that village saw the error of their ways
I agree about Edinburgh .
I dont mind the city as much as I used to . A good friend of mine stayed there for a while . He showed me it was a better place than I had given it credit for.
Salt n Sauce still my favourite thing about Edinburgh.
The Green Man, I only know he lives in Kilmarnock, hunfortunately .

In the 1960s I remember three teams supporters singing the sash at every game – the dead team, the diet huns and Dundee. On the other hand, my best mate of over 40 years is a Dundonian and there is not a bigot ed bone in his body. He is a Utd supporter born and bred. When I went there, I always found the locals friendly.

I listened to the podcast there in what was a contained response to the situation, I however do not agree with you that you expect the SPFL to do little in response to this SC decision, if clubs have been stitched up by not appealing the original LNS decision then this is a scandal. In the later part of your comments you question the terms of reference of LNS and that this was changed to exclude illegal and agreed illegal tax scheme the DOS [the wee tax case] Was this sprung on the clubs, otherwise LNS was set up to achieve a desired answer and was nothing more than rubber stamping the decision of the time from the tax tribunal over the EBT case. In many ways this was a waste of time but gave credibilty to the possibility that what RFC did 1872-2012 was legal and was cheered from the rooftops for being so. This has since been blown out the water by the Court of Session and reinforced and finally by the Supreme Court that what they did was not legal and they avoided tax amounting to about 47million before penalties.
The SPFL need to set aside the LNS findings as the decision of the courts has changed from the tax case been legal to being illegal.
The SFA position is also typical of an organisation that has plenty to hide and will do it best to keep it so.
A full independent inquiry with nothing off limits is imperative, or football is finished in this country.
The on going demise of der Hun , has led to a vow of silence , especially when a fenian is nearby . Even in Ayrshire . I’m sure that the lodges have given out advice . Unless on a walk , in the lodge , or a fenian free zone , don’t mention fitba .
I came across one on Twitter recently , giving it big licks to Greame Speirs . The usual , below the belt knuckle dragging stuff . He seems to have a following of well over a thousand . This particular Hun ( who I only bump into occasionally ) is nice as you like face to face , and avoids any discussion regarding the zombies like the plague . Strange peepil . HH

Im very familiar with the historical aspects.
Ive been reading some sources from 1778-1780
You wouldnt believe the hatred, suffice to say, Club1872 would be well aware of what im saying.
Its more than hatred actually, its a sickness.

Agree with your post, I’ve just listened to the podcast myself. I was also surprised by Paul’s opinion that the SPFL will probably not do anything. As you say if we don’t get a full, independent enquiry the game is finished. I thought Matt McGlone spoke well, his idea of crowd funding a QC i think is going down the road of Judicial Review. I read somewhere that you need to instigate a Judicial Review within 3 months on a known decision although there are exemptions. I would think it would be wise to hold fire on that just now until we hear from the SPFL as we might be seen to be jumping the gun. In the first instance the Club’s need to deal with the matter at hand, they have duty to hold the football authorities to account, it’s all very well asking the fans to apply pressure but the Club’s have a responsibility anyway if they suspect any wrongdoing has taken place.
Oh blast…sorry ive missed this:)
Just in April there, The Scottish Reformation Society were celebrating the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther, with a Conference.
The theme of the Conference, ‘Scotland’s Debt to Martin Luther’

The Green Man, that sounds a plan .
Delaney’s and I were members of the Lisbon Lions CSC . A member of the bus used to travel to our away games in full Celtic strip, irrespective of the weather.
We played a midweek league cup game at Rugby Park in November orDecember 1983 and it was freezing . This guy turned up in the full strip with those huge rosary beads on , the ones you could buy in Spain. He wasn’t even a Catholic.
The year before , Delaney’s will confirm this, the same guy travelled to Amsterdam for the second leg of the European Cup game v Ajax, in the full strip . We were on the Glasgw Uni CSC.
On the way to Amsterdam, the bus stopped in Birmingham . The guy in the full strip was asked by a local , are you not feeling cold . The reply was, I’m never cauld when I wear the holy colours .

DD will tell you.
The PLC put the blockers on the Linfield game:(
We were planning to go, me disguised as John Knox, and DD as Mother Theresa:)
I planned a Knox fire and brimstone, hell and damnation rant/sermon at the Linfield mob, but Big Peter prevented it:)

And quite correct as well:)

Expect the cranking up of negative Celtic stories as the week progresses.
Incoming transfer”hitches”, Circling big clubs ready to swoop on our players.
That kind of stuff.
The usual CQN gullibles will get all hot and bothered, because it was in the Sun, Record or Evening Times….when has BFDJ been wrong.
Let it all go over our heads and await actual developments.
Thom The Tim
Was it only in the Sun, Record etc?
I suppose i must be one of the gullibles you refer to.
Was there any need for that?
And why do you take those ‘gullibles’ so seriously anyway:)
Oh Wise One of CQN
The Green Man , the Celtic board strike again. Lol
I was clearing out a chest of drawers earlier . I found edition 217 of Not the View from April 2013.
There is an article in it regarding player registration in light of the Nimmo Smith decision . It lists the relevant rules from the then SPL & SFA re player registration .
One bit of the article really stood out for me. It would appear that the SPL lawyers have been paid to stop the inquiry from finding Rangers FC players ineligible and done so with the help of the SFA’s head of registration .
Could this be the case ?

I know exactly what you mean.
Every year I get sucked in , knowing fine and well I should ignore the ” paper talk. ”
Still. Celtic FC are in a better place than we have been for years.

Every trick in the book, especially when they think nobody will challenge them.

Their mantra is this, ‘Let us cheat or else’
The only problem is, most people will say, or else what!

Radiohead phenomenol on for two and a half hour till they got flung off.
Phew for a minute there,

I caught a bit of radiohead, thought the sound was better than last week at glasto.

Delaney’s , Jeff used to come into Heraghty’s occasionally when I was in it.
He looked in a bad way , unfortunately.
I was told he has since passed away but can’t confirm if that is the case or not.
The Amsterdam song is an all time classic to me but not as good as the Harry Hood song .
The Green Man, as they ur ra peepul an at , they are above the law.

They did a longer, better set than they did at Glastonbury. They loved the 20 odd Palestine flags in the crowd in show of their support for Palestine people. Thom thanked the beautiful Glasgow people.
My son who is not much of a Radiohead fan was blown away how good they were, compared to Kasabian, his band. A Radiohead convert. :)
The EBT years

Thought by starting off in Glasgow by opening with Let Down was genius decision.

Yeah, they were better.
Cant fault them really

This from KDS sums it up.
I think the justification is set out in some detail earlier.
http://kerrydalestreet.co.uk/single/?p=30445437&t=11033511
In simple terms LNS said that there was no question of dishonesty. There is and whilst ebts are lawful the way RFC used them has now been confirmed beyond doubt to be unlawful.
A third factor is the non disclosure of the wtc documentation a further act of dishonesty.
That does it for me.
Less than 23 hours to go :-)
