CELTIC’S opening game in defence of the Betfred League Cup they have won for the past four seasons will be shown live on Premier Sports.

Neil Lennon’s side have been drawn against Ross County at Parkhead with the last-16 tie to be beamed live on Sunday November 29 – as CQN forecast – with a noon kick-off.

The Hoops are in action against Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic in the Europa League Group H encounter the previous Thursday.

The satellite broadcasters have yet to rubber-stamp the date, but it is only a matter of time. Watch this space.

The champions took on the Highlanders in Dingwall earlier this season and triumphed 5-0. Last term, they faced them twice in the east end of Glasgow and eased to a 9-0 aggregate triumph, 6-0 in October and 3-0 in January.

Celtic got the ball rolling in the competition when goals from Tom Rogic, James Forrest and Moussa Dembele gave them a 3-0 win over Aberdeen in 2016. A year later, Forrest and Dembele were on target again as Motherwell were beaten and a strike from Ryan Christie proved to be the only goal of the game against the Dons in 2018. Christopher Jullien was the goal hero last year against Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox side.
