CELTIC DONATION TO NEPAL APPEAL

THE Celtic FC Foundation have made a £5,000 donation to the Nepal Earthquake Appeal, which has been organised by the Disasters Emergency Committee.
An earthquake has devastated parts of Nepal, killing thousands of people and leaving vast numbers without access to shelter, water or food.

The DEC, bringing together 13 UK aid charities, has launched an urgent appeal to raise funds to aid the stricken.

Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: “From Glasgow, we have watched in horror at events unfolded in Nepal. Clearly, we cannot imagine what people there are going through, but we felt it was important to do what we can to help those who are in such real need at the moment.

“We understand that the people of Nepal will need a high level of continued, long-term support, but we hope our donation will assist in some way.
“We know that through the DEC our donation will go directly to those people affected.

“Our thoughts, prayers and support are with all those affected.”
