CELTIC DUO D-DAY

KIERAN TIERNEY and Anthony Ralston will learn their World Cup fate on Tuesday.

The Celtic double-act are on the verge of being called into Steve Clarke’s squad for the Finals which are due to kick off on June 11.

Tierney scored a crucial goal against Hoops team-mate Kasper Schmeichel in Scotland’s 4-2 win over Denmark at Hampden in November that sealed a place in the global extravaganza that will be held in USA, Canada and Mexico.

The defender is a certainty to make the travelling pool of players, but Ralston faces a sweat before discovering if he, too, gets the nod.

The right-back has been used sparingly at the Hoops this season after the emergence of teenager Colby Donovan and the January lean deal for Bournemouth’s Julian Araujo.

WORLD CUP FINALS, HERE WE COME…Kieran Tierney is congratulated by John McGinn after scoring his crucial goal in Scotland’s dramatic 4-2 win over Denmark at Hampden in November. Boss Steve Clarke prepares to join in the celebrations.

Ralston is among the champions’ stand-by squad following Alistair Johnston’s recent return to fitness after being sidelined since October.

Supremo Clarke has some huge decisions to make before he announces his squad next wek, according to a report in the Scottish Sun.

The Scots are due to get their campaign underway with a match against Haiti in Boston in the early hours of Sunday June 14 before facing Morocco at the same venue five days later.
