CELTIC EYE GRONINGEN STAR

CELTIC are lining up a second swoop in two years on Dutch outfit Groningen.
The SPFL champions, who signed Virgil Van Dijk for £2.6million from the Eredivisie club in the summer of 2013, have been linked with William Troost-Ekong.
Ironically, the 21-year-old replaced Van Dijk at Groningen after being released by Spurs.
However, the 6ft 3in central defender, who also had a spell as a youth at Fulham, has spent this season on loan at Dordrecht and is poised to quit Holland at the end of the campaign.
The former Dutch Under-20 international still has two years of his Groningen contract to run, but it appears he favours a return to British football.
The Hoops have been closely monitoring his progress with Van Dijk, under contract until July 2017, linked with several English top-flight clubs and the possibility of a big-money move in the summer and Jason Denayer likely to return to his own club Manchester City at the end of his season long loan.
