CELTIC EYES ON CASPER

CELTIC’S search for left-back reinforcements has linked them with Aarhus’ Danish international Casper Hojer.

The £1.5 million-rated defender has emerged as a potential target for Neil lennon as he looks to strengthen the No.3 position with blunder Bhoy Boli Bolingoli shipped off to Turkish football on loan for the season.

Lennon is looking for a replacement for the Belgian to add competition for Greg Taylor and the Danish club’s 25-year-old back-four operator is now on Lennon’s radar, according to the Daily Record.

Hojer has just over a year remaining on his current deal and is also attracting interest from English Championship side Watford.

The nine-in-a-row champions remain keen on Charlton’s 20-year-old left-sided midfielder Alfie Doughty and, as CQN reported at the weekend, a third take-it-or-leave-it bid is due to be slapped in before the transfer deadline a week today.

The League One side’s youngster is seen as one for the future and will be eligible to sign a pre-contract arrangement in January if the Hoops’ final offer – believed to be around the £800,000 mark – is rejected, He becomes  a free agent in June.

In the meantime, there could be a move for Hojer this week.
