CELTIC have been linked with Real Vallodolid’s £8.5million-rated winger Raul Moro.

The Spanish Under-21 international is poised to leave the struggling La Liga side just eight months after helping them to promotion.

Moro has caught the eye in the top flight with four goals in 19 appearances and Dutch giants Ajax have already confirmed their interest in the versatile performer who can play on both wings, but has been used more prominently on the left in this campaign.

The one-time Barcelona academy product signed for Vallodolid on a one-year loan from Lazio before joining on a permanent contract in the summer.

Brendan Rodgers is looking to bolster his options in wide areas and will step up his efforts in this window with Luis Palma edging closer to the Parkhead exit.

Moro has come into focus, but the champions may have to get involved in a bidding war to land the forward who will be sacrificed by the Spanish outfit to bring in finances as they battle to beat the drop.

Ajax technical director Alex Kroes, according to a report in the Daily Mail, has already admitted: “We are interested in Raul Moro, yes. Moro can play on both the left and right wings.”

However, the Eredivisie club are ready to haggle over the asking price while Valladolid are aware of the Hoops’ interest, but have yet to receive a firm offer.

Rodgers has already shown an interest in 21-year-old Norwegian winger Sondre Orjasaeter, of Sarpsborg.

The £7million-rated wide player has also been linked with Italian duo Fiorentina and Parma and Ligue 1 Nice.
