CELTIC FACE HENRY TRANSFER SCRAP

2

CELTIC face fierce competition in their pursuit of Nigerian attacker Henry Onyekuru in the summer.

The Hoops had a reported £1million bid turned down by Belgian minnows Eupen during the January transfer window.

Onyekuru, 19, was so disappointed thst his dream move to Celtic was blocked that he went awol for three games before returning to the first team.

Now Bundesliga giants Borussia Monchengladbach, who eliminated the Hoops from Europe this season, and Club Brugge are ready to join the hunt for the pacy frontman.

Onyekuru has attracted attention Europe-wide after scoring 12 goals for a side toiling near the bottom of the Belgian top flight after last term’s promotion.

The exciting teenager has already held talks with his club and has been given the green light to leave when the campaign is completed.

Liverpool and CSKA Moscow have also been linked with Onyekuru but Celtic remain in a good position having been working on the deal for a number of months.
