CELTIC FACE UEFA ACTION OVER FLARE

1
CELTIC will face punishment from UEFA on Wednesday after a flare was set off reputedly by Hoops supporters during the 1-1 Europa League draw with Fenerbahce last night.

The governing body have confirmed the SPFL champions will be charged with contravening article 16 of the disciplinary regulations following the incident in Istanbul. It is likely they will be fined for this latest incident.

This will be the fourth time the club have been in trouble with UEFA this year after being fined for crowd disturbances against Dinamo Zagreb before facing penalties for on-field indiscretions against Inter Milan as well as the use of flares among supporters.

The European football bosses have previously threatened to partially close a section of Celtic Park if the use of pyrotechnics continued.
