Celtic fans get stuck into our reason for being, nomad moot

765

Congratulations to The Kano Foundation for their magnificent fifth annual charity dinner on Saturday.  The Kano story is beyond incredible and a credit to those who call ourselves Celtic fans – whether you are involved with them or not.

Well done also to everyone who participated in the Celtic Foundation Zip Slide across Celtic Park on Saturday, in aid of children’s’ charities.  It was exhilarating and is sure to be repeated.  A weekend without Celtic and hundreds of Celtic fans get stuck into our reason for being.

They can blame the last guys for the lack of commercial revenue streams, or for paying incompetent coaches too much money.  They can even blame them for over-ambition when it came to funding the playing squad, but for all of its short corporate life, Rangers International PLC’s previous board members have been able to produce accounts on time and all received approval from authorised nominated advisers.

If the new board members are unable to deliver a nominated adviser, blaming the old board, as one newspaper tried today: “largely because of the scorched earth policy implemented by the previous board in the last days of the Mike Ashley empire – they must do so before the City shuts down for the Easter holiday”, would be both dishonest and a very worrying (for some) departure from a company which seeks to build its corporate reputation.

This entire question should be moot.  Mike Ashely didn’t need to be on the newco board to exert the control he needed with an 8% share and neither would Dave King.  King could easily take a back seat and appoint trusted men of stature who would breeze the nomad requirements.  We can only speculate as to why King NEEDS to be on the board, and don’t count on anyone who can get close enough to King, or his PR, asking this question.  The entire uncertainty is an unnecessary nonsense.

  1. tribute act, right, sure.

The club has never died and that’s all that matters, its also old history, so lets move on.

When you played us in the cup recently, and you won 3-0 you did play well and there is a difference in the strenght of the squads right now, but ask yourselves did you hate us the way you always did, did you enjoy scoring against us more than Dundee utd.

Then you know in your hearts that we are the same club, or why the loathing.

Nobody mentions Third lanark on here everyday, we are your life blodd and you know it

BillBear. You are deluded your club will be lucky to survive until next season as there bank account is as bare as your name. You are going to have a mass exodus of players in the summer as there is no money to resign them. There is no big money coming into your club from anyone and your delisted in the markets so a win against the Blue Brazil or whoever is your club finding its level. While Celtic are preparing for the CL play offs your mob will be lucky if they can find enough free transfer players to make up a team. H.H.

  3. It election campaign opening day.

Odds on billbear will be posting political cr*p before the day is out and there will be plenty more over the next two months. So annoying.

Has anyone seen Alfie and Billbear in the same room?

we should be told the truth.

  5. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

Maybe Jackson could have asked King why they didn’t simply appoint the nomad they had all lined up. Or was that a glib and shameless lie?

Oh, and those crippled duds from Newcastle. Isn’t one of them single-handedly keeping their play-off chances alive? And for a whole 1,000 a week? Or a 1/16 gardener as it is sometimes called.

Be funny if big Mike took him back before the play-offs!

  6. Posh Deli, Glasgow £260

    Paid in full, ask them?

I’m sure the other 275 will sleep a lot easier tonight then.

  7. Huge congratulations to the Kano Foundation and all they do. Tony’s seat has not been renewed this year but I have another young Tim coming through who will get his name on one.

To all the Zip slidie people, yer all stars. I know a couple who were probably seeing stars until they landed, but that’s just normal for them on a Saturday afternoon :o)

  8. Well done Paul. Brilliant piece of social engineering!

International break usually causes some of us to argue amongst ourselves.

You introduce billbear to the blog giving one and all an outlet for our pent up frustrations while we await the Champions’ return on Friday.

Excellent. He is Declan like funny too.

Do me a favour. Read the Leader, then go onto CQN and read about the charity work completed by this blog for charities such as Marys meals Malawi. One amongst many. Then go and let the Sevco sites have an idea as to what my Club is all about.

Now before you say “we do the same” our monies raised actually goes to where we say it will, the intended charities.

  11. Billbear,

What possessed, I mean obsessed you to come on to a Celtic site?

Your heid is mashed with the goings on, that you’re even giving Celtic Credit of extra goals that never happened.

The cup game finished 2-0 . That’s the first correction.

Celtic never played well either…. We played within ourselves. Didn’t have to play well. That’s the sad truth for your lot.

Anything else? Cos I’m busy today…

  22. Really dont see the point in loaning out imoortant member of the squad when we are chasing 2 trophies.

When season is finished give the lad 2weeks off then maybe send him on loan for couple of months.

Couple months in the gym bulking up abit might do him more good. That pass to guidetti in inter game.. class.

  23. Just off the phone to Posh Deli on Paisley Road West who have indeed confirmed that they have accepted payment for the £260 they were owed!

They did also wish it to be known that they accepted ‘payment’ despite harbouring a strong suspicion that empty ginger bottles are not in fact legal tender.

The wee newsagent next door also wishes it to be know that until further notice they are unable to redeem deposits on any empty bottles …
