Celtic fans to blame, apparently

902

I see Celtic fans are being blamed for rumours of Newco’s administration by their former manager, Ally McCoist. He could argue that. Alternatively, you could suggest that a business unable to secure bank borrowing, dependent on funding from directors, who will soon be forced to find £11m to make a share offer, has created more than enough financial uncertainty without Celtic fans’ assistance.

McCoist suggested “even the biggest Celtic fans in the country” do not want to see Newco go into administration. Not so sure you are right there, Ally. Personally, I would find it a funny, but it is not going to change anything. It would not lead to relegation and will not change the title race in any way.

The most significant outcome of administration could be forcing control from Dave King. Which would be a source of enormous regret.

You hang in there, Dave.

The CQN Podcast: A Celtic State of Mind (EP28) with former Celtic director Tom Grant

Paul John Dykes and Kevin Graham are joined by Celtic’s ex-director, Tom Grant, who offers a fascinating insight into the running of the club in the 1980s and 1990s.

Tom Grant explains exactly why Celtic refused to complete the Mo Johnston transfer in 1989, and lifts the lid on audacious efforts by Billy McNeill to recruit Peter Beardsley and Steve Bruce.

Tom Grant also dissects his relationship with Fergus McCann, and the impact of the ‘Celts For Change’ movement in overturning the ‘family dynasty’ board in 1994.

O.K. Ally, tell us what you whispered in Neil Lennon’s ear and we’ll accept the blame for all Sevco’s troubles.

    Deal?

  2. Just like the hysterical Yanks who blame Russian hackers…..ridiculous nonsense from the WASP Factory

Meeting up with the big bro for the Hins game and am finding it difficult to secure tickets. Anybody out there help.

Almore seems to be having the same problem as me and as he posted first it would only be proper if he got first dibs.

    thanks in advance

  4. The embarassing ‘articles ‘ by McDermott and Ralston in the DR, are akin to schoolgirls crying about their favourite boyband splitting up…….

Dave King been given leave to appeal against CoS result. Will be heard on 28 Feb. Two days set aside. Motion for Early disposal by ToP brief appears to have been granted.

Any admin pushed further down the road??

This is the worst piece of journalism,I think I have read.Every single fact he has put up as proof the team he adores are in rude health,is a lie.Bare faced lies.Waffles on in La La Land, omitting every negative fact surrounding that disaster area of a club.

I know we just laugh at these morons with Laptops now,but this guy has taken the crap up around 50 notches.Sheer unadulterated nonsense.A truly mindboggling piece.

Hmmmm, you could argue that filling a team with highly paid players to win the fourth division and staying at the Gleneagles Hotel might also have contributed. Wonder whose fault that was, Ally?

Agree about King, Paul. The longer he is around the better!

Ralston’s bit is simply outrageous, I would be surprised if James Forrest don’t offer a comment on it.

  10. Phils piece is very good.Naming the firms involved in such a way will have The Fat Controller in a lather.

Still, nothing to see here, move along Timmys, and stay away from the betting shops.

It is indeed, but the Mc Farlane piece runs it very close.Boak inducing rather than lies.

  12. I am one who would like to see Sevco disappear and no new entity formed. It would result in their supporters disappearing from sight and never coming to Parkhead again. I never missed them when Sevco were in the lower leagues and I would be happy if they never played Celtic again.

My late Father stopped going to Rangers games and gave his book up for free to others. His last Game was 1957 7-1 and he was discussed at the behaviour in the streets after the game.

I have been always uneasy to be exposed to their fans but also uncomfortable at the effect on some of our fans. The world without Huns would be a better place.

  13. WITS- why did O’Brien’s son go into training at such a young age? Injury, diet issues? You would think a young boy would enjoy racing, rather than the gallops.

  14. I find myself heavily conflicted today.

Following Hamiltontim’s link, I wrote to my MSP and list MSPs for this region.

So far only one response. And it is from an MSP who will vote to repeal the act. So far, so good.

But it’s from a Tory MSP. Hence me being conflicted.

Does this mean they are actually the good guys?

  15. Anyone surprised at a member of the mssm scribbling merde in a failing newspaper on behalf of the newest team in the best wee country?

Spreading scurrilous rumours of Admin, burning their luxury coach and assaulting Mc.Gregor the Goalie, are there no depths to which Celtic fans will plumb?

  17. i watched a fa cup game this week i think brighton(kayal played for them) anyway a dutch guy comes of the bench late second half bought for 7ml.

if we bought a player for 7ml @50k per week four year contract, our layout over four years 17ml.

if we win spl every year it would take us approx. 50 years to match relegated teams in epl.

neg2 can you give us a list of players you think celtic should buy, include cost and salary(approx.)

  18. “McCoist suggested “even the biggest Celtic fans in the country” do not want to see Newco go into administration.”

Fat Sally referring to the PLC and the bigots obviously.

Yes funny if it werent so “blue”.

    Thanks in advance.

Joseph O Brien was tall for a jockey and was always going to struggle with weight.

Retiring from sport at 22 when you are very sucessfull isnt easy so training was always on the cards. He gets a good supply of decent horses and has had Cheltenham winners and won the Melbourne cup

Probably will win the Derby The Cheltenham gold cup and the Grand National before he is 40.

Not a lot of people do that!!!
