BUNDESLIGA outfit Hertha Berlin are poised to hijack Celtic’s £900,000 move for Dutch defender Mitchell Dijks.

The Germans are set to join Dutch duo Feyenoord and AZ Alkmaar in the battle for the highly-rated Willem II left-back.
Dijks is leaving the club only a year after joining on a free transfer from Ajax and with 12 months remaining on his current contract.
The 22-year-old, who can play at centre-back as well as full-back, has been told by his manager Jurgen Streppel he should favour German football and Hertha are now ready to plunge into the battle for his signature.
Dijks played his final game for Willem II last weekend, but no deals will be concluded before he heads for a family holiday at the end of this week.Celtic are in the market for a left-back, with Lech Poznan’s Barry Douglas, who would cost £500,000, also among a lengthy list of potential alternative options.

Manager Ronny Deila and the scouting network are scouring the globe looking for reinforcements ahead of the summer qualifiers for the Champions League.
