CELTIC FIRHILL TIE LIVE ON TV

HOLDERS Celtic’s first defence of the Betfred League Cup against Partick Thistle at Firhill will be shown live by BT Sport.

Brendan Rodgers’ team, who have won the silverware in the last two seasons, face up to the Jags on Saturday, August 18 with a 12.30pm kick-off.

The champions met the Maryhill men in the Scottish Cup last season and won 3-2 with James Forrest scoring his first-ever hat-trick.

The Parkhead men also won all three of their Premiership matches against Alan Archibald’s side who were relegated at the end of the campaign after losing to Livingston in the two-legged play-off.
